You guys ever notice that one side of your blower is getting smogged with the diesel exhaust? I clean that area off after every use, but it looks like its staining the back of my blower a little. Might have to rig up an exhaust diverter.
Likely is soot from the diesel combustion, and I'm glad I don't have the new tier IV engines that collect that "dust" in a filter thing, and then periodically inject diesel fuel in to burn it up. Then one has to go through the correct startup procedure and shutdown, as well as wait 30 minutes for the burn-up to take place. When the ash in the filter fills it up, then $200-300 bucks to have it changed out.. I'll admit to not knowing for sure, but glad I just have a little soot to deal with wherever it settles out.
Good friend, new tractor owner, is having to deal with his new 'bota that is back in the shop for a re-call. It was his way to clear snow on his 1/4 mile drive this winter.
