For most of the snow storms we get in VA,,, I could bolt a 2x4 on top of this blade,,
and handle the accumulation.

I have runners to keep it out of the gravel, and the tractor has the right tires!!

My dad had a two wheel tractor when I was a kid. He had a blade for it, and a rotary mower deck and a cultivator, as I recall. It had low and high range gear box and tire chains. I remember him using it a few times. It died on him before I was able to ever operate it. I got it going again when I was about 18 just for fun, but I think the engine had some serious issues and never used it other than to see it move.

Hey guys, new to the thread but have been checking out pics in it for awhile. Here's my new tractor and snow set up. I am considering chains after slow sliding into the ditch by the road the other day. I managed to get out but I almost had to get the truck to pull it out.

I have 2 link spacing chains. If i had to do it over again I would have got a set of net style chains. I have a set of net sytle chains for the 4240 and they have great lateral traction. With a set on the rear it would help to keep you from sliding sideways.

I like these best because they have a built in tensioner.

You should also do the Racor fuel filter upgrade since you are going to be using your BX in cold weather.

You guys ever notice that one side of your blower is getting smogged with the diesel exhaust? I clean that area off after every use, but it looks like its staining the back of my blower a little. Might have to rig up an exhaust diverter.

Find a gravely snow blower for your machine and you will never look back. They have a fan drum style that rotates so when you are blowing snow to the left the drum with the discharge chute attached turns with to the left. The snow comes off the fan and out the chute with no change in direction and no losses due to the friction of the snow in a chute that changes its direction. Same to the right. No residential snow blower can match how far and how much snow it will handle with 12 hp.You have the tires chains so almost good to go.

This style of rotating drum blower is seen on the snow blowers for airport runways, They throw snow an incredible distance. Railway snow blowers operate in the same way. Now heavy commercial blowers for huge parking lots have rotating drums. In their design the chute is out of the path of the snow completely.

I cleared a rural 300 foot lane for years before I had the funds to get a tractor with a heated cab.

Get a sulky if you dont want to walk behind the gravely. They even have a sulky with a steering wheel but I did not like it at all.

Since my two main machines have steering brakes, I do not need a steering sulky,,,

Got some snow in NH today. Here is my Kubota L2501 with Land Pride SB1064 snowblower and ratchet rake "snow edge" on the bucket. The snow edge works great on the paved portion of the driveway. Use the snowblower on the long gravel part. Works great!

Now there's a REAL man. No cab. 👍
