Still riding pretty high because there's nothing in it. Nothing as in no engine, no transaxle, no cabinets, no beds, no sink, not even any seats. I hope it drops at least a couple inches when all that's installed, as right now as soon as the pop top goes on it'll be too high to fit under the garage door.

High clearance?

I was just wondering about that this morning, too. One of the promises made during the campaign was to bring jobs back from overseas. How is that going to work when the reason they left to begin with was so big corporations could pay people less for doing the same job? Do you think the Average American will take less money for jobs that used to be here? Do you think american companies will invest the millions of dollars in infrastructure and materials needed to build the factories in which those people would work unless they get some kind of guarantee that they can continue to pay them what they did in China? And what about the people that just don't want to work, and would rather panhandle on our city streets or steal or rob for a living?

My take is that the jobs horse has already left the barn, and getting it back in is gonna take a lot more than what the new president has in his pockets or can do with his shiny new pen. Especially with the sacred cows of unions, tariffs, welfare, etc. alive and well and showing no signs of going anywhere else.

I agree that getting those jobs back is questionable. And as a old Union guy, unions are dead, as far as manufacturing goes. It really represents a single digit percentage of employees, mostly teachers and police. I think they will put up some token plants and declare victory, imho.

Perhaps if they get the trade agreements straightened out and fair, we can get some jobs back at decent wages. Some states (like Washington) just passed higher minimum wage, scaling up over the next several years. We will start eating out in Idaho, won't be able to afford a dinner out in Washington..

The stock market is up 300 Drew, relax.

and wonder of wonders, the stock market actually has done quite well today (Don and I were thinking the same thing at the same time)

headed out to a friends for dinner with my stuffed peppers in hand; they came out quite well
if I may say so, such that I dare to take them on a road trip.

Picked three more green peppers today, the last,
hard freeze likely coming this weekend so time to pick. Next year I am sure going to plant a second crop of peppers; these came in very
late because they had been hidden by the potatoes. Once the potatoes finally died off, the peppers went bonkers. Next year I'll plant some hot peppers, to give away,
lots of takers, they look good while growing, but for me, no longer on the menu. So lots of sweet and hot peppers next year. And string beans, boy they grew well here also. Eggplants and garlic, not so well.

My Dad says he want to sell his old non running tractors. One an old Ferguson and the other a John Deer B. Where should I list them first?

Local paper
Craigs list
TBN

I will take some pics and I might need some help on coming up with a fair price.

The only one that was interested in restoring them was my late brother.

Good morning! 62˚ cloudy.

Ed, Evelyn Oswick, who was in Forks Over Knives, passed away this week at the age of 90. About 30 years ago, Evelyn's cardiologist said she wouldn't live out the year. Then she became a patient in Dr. Esselstyn's groundbreaking study on heart disease and plant based diet and went on to live and thrive for 30 more years. That's the reason and I have changed my diet so drastically. I'm not ready to say goodbye to loved ones. My wife thanks me everyday, we have had the same number of Anniversaries as Toppop. It really helps that she is on the same diet and a good cook. My brother's death is a harsh reminder what happens when nothing is changed. For those interested short story here: Forks Over Knives | In Memoriam: Remembering Evelyn Oswick

Off soap box.

Canada should be getting a surge in population if all the promises are kept!

Thanks Don, That video changed my life. My wife has gone back to the great american diet and doesn't like cooking three meals three times a day. One for me one for her and one for the boy. Makes it harder to follow my diet but that is ok, I will follow it. I have seen what it can do. Ed

I restored 2 old internationals, a 300U and a Farmall H. I had way more into the tractors than I could sell them for. I still have the H, but the 300U sold for about 1/3 of what I had into it. Letter series, unless a rare variant, are pretty much scrap price.
