Good morning!!!!

Good Morning! 63F @ 5:45AM. Partly cloudy. High 79F. Winds S at 10 to 20 mph.

For me, it doesn't get much better than - painting the diesel tank with my favourite wife
That makes me wonder, Eric: Just how many wives DO you have?

Most of my friends in our fifties and sixties have occasional bouts of insomnia, mine come almost every week. Sometimes reading a bit will make me sleepy, sometimes using the Internet, but once in a while I just end up getting out of bed and starting the day. Then I'm tired enough to sleep well the next night, with maybe a nap after lunch to help me get through.

Welded a rotating seat base to the passenger side pedestal yesterday, then painted it to match the rest of the interior, white. Don't know why I'd waited so long to do this, and figured better take care of it now than risk putting burn marks in the finished paint. So today I'll start the masking and painting on the door jambs. First day in a while I haven't been on the tractor; nice.

Happy Hump Day!

61 this morning and headed to 90. Currently 87.

Worked on the water system for the chicken coops this morning. Galvanized pipe stand for the pressure switch rotted off. Then will be moving hay and working on gravel for the concrete. Need to call and see when I can get a truck. Need stands for the rebar.

Eric. I tell my wife she's my favorite and she reminds me she's my only wife. So I say "see no competition." I usually get a look.

My Dads tractor shift emblem is faded and half gone and I forget where some gears are occasionally. I found a new shift decal online:
http://www.georgebradishtractorparts.com/images/fordDecals/D985.JPG

What is the symbol in the middle above the 1800 and to the left of the 1200?

recommended engine speed for pto? See above, says 1800, assuming that little indicator/designator does not move. ??
wish I knew what the emblem meant to the left, no idea...

Don, I think that is symbol of a crankshaft/piston or RPM.

rpm, makes sense, and if you look at all the speed ranges shown, that little triangle must be what the speed is at 1800 rpm in each range

My guess is it means RPM.

In the upper instance, it appears to be next to a symbol for the PTO, and indicates that at 1800 RPM the PTO is running at 540 RPM. Does that make sense?

In the lower one, it appears next to three RPM numbers, 1200, 1800, and 2200, below a bar that aligns horizontally with 4th gear. That would indicate the range of speeds available at these RPMs in 4th gear. Does that seem reasonable?:confused3::confused2:

RNG;

The speed range bar, for each gear, is based on 1200 - 2200 RPM. I know that for sure.

Wow, y'all are fast and good. OK that sounds right, black diamond indicates speed at 1800 RPM and at 1800 RPM the PTO is is spinning at 540 RPM, and the white bar is the speed bar range (1200PRM to 2200RPM) in each gear, got it!

Well Don, your able support team is always good and can either be fast ....or half fast!

I have an almost 2 year old LS XR4046HC that tells me RPM but, not ground speed? How hard can that be? Obviously a chart wouldn't work with a hydrostatic drive like a gear tractor.

My 7 YO New Holland is a gear tractor and has digital ground speed.

Don, if you told us the make and model of the tractor, we might be able to find an owner's manual on line that would tell us for sure what those symbols mean and how the table should be read...:2cents:

It's a Ford 3610. I also need to know how to adjust the 3PT lift speed.

RNG my dad has the full service manual. It covers several 3610s and the the parts don't match. The broke spinal part number had three different numbers and none of them were the one that finally fit. What I need is just an operators manual. I'll have to question him further he might remember putting one somewhere.

2016-09-22,

51 right now...high of 82 today...we'll see it if gets that warm.

My new snowblower was delivered yesterday. Same size as my old Woods...this one has a hydraulic chute rotation:

This probably eliminates any chance of snow this winter...

I tell my wife she's my favorite and she reminds me she's my only wife. So I say "see no competition." I usually get a look.

The wife I married back in 1977 is still doing fine and I never felt the need to try another - unlike fishing rods, rifles, pedal bikes and other such things, where I have often indulged in "just one more".

RNG, did your ex-wife put you to the test and ask you to choose between her and yet another bike ? :)

A little damp to start off, although blue sky on the horizon is showing promise.

That looks a great setup Roy, they do say prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

I brought my TEF-20 Ferguson over to the house a few weeks ago so I could give it a bit of TLC and I ought to make a start today. It must be feeling unloved ever since I got the Iseki, so I am treating it to new tie rod ends. Maybe even find a tin can the right size to slip over the exhaust.

Only kidding, a brand new exhaust costs 12 pounds (15 $).

67 going to 81...probably a little rain again.

Yesterday's forecasted "20% chance of showers" turned into all day rain. I did make good progress on some paperwork and get a wet hike in with Coco. The break I made in the logjam seems to be flowing well.

Roy, nice looking setup.

Eric, $15 sounds like a great price...not sure they sell anything for my Kubota that inexpensive.
