How does your garden grow?

Larro that hoop house idea came from a fellow on the web who titled it how to build a green house for under 600 bucks. So I decided to see if I could do it for that price or less. I think I'm about 500 with cheap 20x100 roll of 6 mil visqueen. Time will tell if this was a good plan.

Scavenged the garden tonight after I got home from market. I really have just let it go being so dry even the weeds aren't growing much :laughing: So there's green bell and Cubanelle pepper, plus Hungarian hot wax, jalapeno, Italian cherry, and Harris Classic eggplant. Picked a few small tomatoes too.

Just pull it good and tight, and you should be golden. Mine was less than tight, and wind didn't do well by her. Also, cats.

Those are looking good. The deer got most of my milder peppers. Saw a couple of bells still alive this morning, but it's mostly the hot stuff they left.

Except for cutting okra and picking a few peppers and melons, I took the month of August off from the garden. It was all dead or dying from lack of water.

You got to love the way peppers can just Keep On Trucking in this hot weather.

If we went out and picked the apples off our 4 trees,,
I could easily fill a pickup truck bed.
Beautiful, crunchy, flavorful.
I am watching the VT-TN football game, the wife has two apple pies in the oven!!

NOTE: there was an injury at the Bristol Speedway football game,,,
They hauled the injured player off the field,,,

Even the VT bus broke down,, now the ENTIRE team is being taken back to Blacksburg by the TOW TRUCK!!

At least the apple pie I had at half time was GREAT!!

I haven't looked at any of the preseason ACC rankings. After Clemson and FSU, how does the rest of the conference stack up? I hear ESPN's College Game Day is headed for the FSU @ Louisville game. Wouldn't have guessed that a couple of weeks ago. The SEC's out of conference troubles are the reason I would think.

Story not for the faint of stomach warning, walked the wife out to leave for work and did a quick scan of drive. What's that at the end of the drive, squirrel roadkill got to check it out so I go and give it a nudge to make sure it's passed. Tell my wife wait don't leave let me get the gloves to get it up. To my surprise it's still warm and limp, I look at her and say breakfast of course she thinks I'm joking. She leaves and I make a beeline to the fire pit in the woods and get a fire going right away. I skin it then make a spit to rotisserie the beast get a quick pic with the iPhone and off it goes to her at work. Now she says I'm a nut job for cooking the beast I tell her waste not want not that it's good to stay up on my survival skills. Squirrel season opened last Saturday and I've been looking over my woods for some and as usual never a chance at a shot so the way I see it is the good lord is providing what I seem to have trouble getting on my own. So my question to all of you is would you have made breakfast or not? All things being equal
