I had 130 hours on my GR2120 when i traded it for a F2690 just a couple of month ago. I would estimate that of the 130 hours on the machine, 90 hours where cutting grass and the rest was blowing snow.
The mower deck on mine was getting noisy which made me think it's the bearings at the time, and i greased them way more often then the manual calls for. It seemed to me that something was not far from having to be repaired, but didnt even consider the gearbox. Now i have a better idea on what that noise was. Since there is a "issue" with them, i agree with you. They should help you out!

I have the snow blower for mine. 2 stage does a great job throwing snow at distance. I do not have chains or extra weight, never needed with 4wd, never been stuck. All controls are manual, works well. Added light to see while blowing, and Racor fuel filter to remove water. 2nd suggestion for shear bolts, I keep plenty of both sizes and wrenches under the seat. Philip.

Newbie here,

just bought a new GR2120 with a 54" mower deck, paid $8990.00 Canadian plus taxes it came to $10196.00. I thought that was pretty good price, I'm now looking for a snow blower, thought the GR2728 would work, any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks
Jim

I like mine, but there have been a few small problems in the two + years I've owned it. I have the 54 inch deck. The plastic bottom panels on the tractor body cracked from the "diesel shudder" when I turn the machine off. They are not structural parts, I don't think, so I have reinforced the panels with the old standby - duct tape - in the back and they seem to be holding up. I have some kind of slow leak in one of the front tires. The idler pulley on the deck blew out somehow, and it was replaced under warranty. It's an oddball size, so it's very hard to replace outside of the original Kubota part. I think you got a fair price - less than I paid 2 years ago in US dollars, but then the US dollar is much stronger now than it was then. The machine is very good, but I have got stuck in the mud a couple times. With the old Wheelhorse, I could just put 'er in gear and get off the machine and push her out. This one weighs too much and you can't do that with the hydro anyway. Thankfully I have a larger tractor to yank it out. Despite the obviously wide tires, I think the tractor would be better if it had even wider tires, higher flotation, so it be less likely to leave ruts.

Picked up my GR2846 snowblower with a fun connect hitch last week. I spent a couple of afternoons putting it all together (little bit of head scratching) but overall not a real difficult project.
Just waiting for the snow now.

That blower works very well and you'll like it. Just keep a couple of sheerbolts on hand. I never had to replace any with previous blowers i had, but this guy sure likes eating them. Always the #70060-01338....

Thanks Pete,

I'll pick up a couple of shear bolts, seems strange that these shear bolts are breaking unless the blade is locking up or something.

Thanks
Jim

In the year since that post, I've had the deck starting to make lots of noise. Can't for the life of me tell what it is, so I contacted dealer for help. Had the two front steering brackets break and replaced, and now the side steering bracket, on the steering shaft, is broken. Called dealer today and waiting for reply as to when service guy will be in our area. Closest Kubota dealer is 50 miles from here. Not the same one I bought the machine from, mind you; they went out of business like the dealers for every new car, truck or tractor I have ever purchased. I must be a jinx on that score. 170 hours on machine. 170 hours on machine 99%+ mowing.

Mine is at 150hrs, mowing 48" kubota deck, no issues. Any one know what tire pressures should be... HS
