Had both cars down for repairs and a bunch of travel to see family this weekend. Friday afternoon went to dealer and bought a new truck.

2016 F-150, crew cab, 2.7 Ecoboost. First 30 hours of owning it I put 450 miles on it. Rides nice and plenty of room. It is getting just over 21 MPG, little better then my 1997 Ranger. MSRP of $45,870, got price down under $38K. All in (taxes, registration, etc) the F-150 was just under $41K. Little over twice what I paid for the Ranger at same dealer 19 years ago.

The spray in bed liner has been nice in the Ranger. Has anyone done it on these new aluminum boxes?

That Ranger looks to be in nice condition as well!

I bought a red van about 30 years ago and still have it... always looked nice and got me out of a few parking tickets... keep a Fire Department hat on the dash that a friend gave me 25 years ago!

Picture angle and matching spray paint help. My youngest is starting to lay claim to the Ranger. So may not stay nice for long.

I couldn't see the Nissan Logo - was the truck just facing the wrong way?

No Nissan. 3 Fords in the driveway and a Subaru back behind the island.

My sympathies being saddled/stuck with that many ford's - must be depressing

I own Ford GM/Chevrolet and Dodge... all have served me well so no complaints.

37 years of ownership of my oldest Ford... and worth more than I paid for it...

It's too bad the cars today don't have the same style and flare of the older ones.

I, too, have owned Ford, Chevrolet, and Dodge pickups, AND Isuzu; all were good vehicles.

If they weren't Fords he wouldn't be able to buy three maintains just one GM!

Also owned Toyota and Mazda pickups...

Out of all of them the "Worst" would be the 91 S10... not because it ever left me stranded but for the gremlins in the instrument cluster which was a known area... sold it to a friend with 37,000 miles and he put another 100k on it last time I saw him.

The 4.3 V6 and the rest of the drive train were never an issue.

I don't like not knowing engine temp so I put in a mechanical gauge which was spot on...

I guess I should have bought that new 2011 F150 with 5.0 a few years back. Was quoted 26,800 out the door for extended cab. I can't wrap my head (or budget) around these 40 grand trucks.

Gonna have to stick with my old 03 for a while longer.
