Step Functions & Discontinuous Functions
Yankeerider, you gave me such a headache, no wonder I needed a math tutor in high school.
No one ever showed me the postage stamp example...and i see/think I remember...that Boolean means you are dealing with choices.
but no matter, since you are way, way over my head

I distinctly remember wondering, way back then, what in the world will I ever use this for. Algebra did not come easy to me.
you all have a good day.

... And the answer to your math question is to write a discontinous boolean function that returns a "true" when the weather is good and you feel too good to spend time on any other activity.

Will try that, however my wife's logic is often a little different to mine. Right now I'm having 10 minutes break from writing code to meet New York City Building Code section 23.8.1.2.3 for "Presignal sytems in Group A Occupanicies required by Section 907.2.1.1 ... " Never mind, I've promised myself I will get to play on the tractor later this afternoon.

Also, if we are allowed to pee off the porch, at our age we ought make sure the properties are orientated to take advantage of the prevailing wind ...

Most important for sure.
Probably more common sense there than half of Parliament. Why aren't you running that place? ;)

Good Morning! 53F @ 5:45AM. Rain showers this morning with overcast skies during the afternoon hours. Thunder possible. High 69F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50%.

Somehow managed to finish mowing yesterday without burning the place down: Didn't get off the tractor 'till 1:45. I was mowing with the forklift attachment in place, and at one point found that one fork had slid off and was sitting patiently on the end of a retaining wall for me to return and reinstall it. Of course, just reversing direction didn't realign and install the fork for me, and the resulting wrestling match was good for a ten minute break. Previously I'd always mowed with the bucket in place, but I think the tractor is less tippy without all that weight. I did worry, though, that should it tip, just dropping the forks probably wouldn't be enough to keep it from going over, and I didn't mow some of the steeper sections that require side hilling.

Ran errands in town the rest of the day, mostly under a heavy thunder storm. Talk about having my own little cloud follow me around. Not a drop fell at home though.

TGIF!!

Good morning! 54˚ heading into the 80s clear skies. It is still too wet for tractor work in some places. I almost got the utility vehicle stuck checking out some of the fence line for down trees. I still have about a mile to check out. Ron that lane we cleared on the west property line is full of trees again from the wind storm. One person on the grapple and one on the chainsaw/limb cutters sure worked good.

I'm going to order the parts for the BH today and when they come in schedule a mechanic to install them.

I noticed a small rip in the seat (2") any recomedations on a good vinyl repair kit or patch?

Roasting room - now that's a novel idea. It could also double as a pizza bar. (But not too close to the porch.):D

Quite true.

Now there you go putting "logic" and "wife" into the same sentence. Haven't you ever heard of horrormones? :)

Don, I'd recommend a new seat. But let us know if some sort of a patch works.

I had some weird chest pains yesterday morning, which brought on the anxiety. I could give more details, but it would be TMI. Thinking about what I had eaten the day before, I had WAY overloaded on salt. Started drinking filtered water, as much as I could drink, and started feeling much better. Watched what I ate yesterday and this morning I feel fine. I had already cut out caffeine. Now onto low sodium I guess. I had eaten a chicken sandwich from Wendy's, but I must confess, it was a "Bacon ranch Asiago spicy chicken sandwich" Asiago Ranch Chicken Club: Fresh Fast Food Chicken - Wendy's....won't do that again. It sounded good at the time.

rs, lay off of that MSG. I think it hits me too. Not sure if Wendys puts that in their food.

Waiting for the dew to dry so I can start cutting grass. Hope all have a great day! Pray for rain on those forest fires.

Day eleven of cloudy dreary, and today, heavy rain. Highs in the 50's again.

Nice here, 64 already and heading to 81 with all sun. Hope to dry up enough that I can get into the southeast section and get the grass cut.

45 this morning and headed to 75 today. Nice sunny day.

Most of my fence cleaning is done and the cows are moved. Letting it dry up a little today and then going to mow this afternoon. Think I'll spray some fences till then.

68°F and .02 inches rain last 24 hours.

That Canada fire is horrific, thoughts and prayers for those poor folks.
Good vet visit. Looks like Pele will stay on her meds lifelong for her heart.
Off to town, breakfast with wife.
Be safe
Have a great day
