Oil filter for New Holland 2120

That's right. The OP was asking about a 2120.

2120 engine oil filter is parallel to the crankshaft.

Threads on to the side of the block, end of filter is close to the lower side cover.......

You can see it to the left of the front tire.

SBA140516230 is the OEM part number.

The parts diagram on New Hollands site does show this as a spin oil filter.

I think NAPA 1329, listed at 5.8". The cross reference for Baldwin worked with the OEM number came up with B7091, and 5 13/16",

51329 came up on WIX's cross refrence for OEM SBA140516230, and 5.8"

When I find out for sure I will buy extra. I will post here, for the next guy too.

Nothing has cross referenced on the Fram website look up feature.

Who sells Wix?

That's a late Tier I emissions 2120; 1999 or later. Different engine than the OP's 1995 model and takes a different engine oil filter.

I'm not making this stuff up; been wrenching on and selling parts for Ford and New Holland tractors for 20 years. Ed and George are confusing the issue. I don't care if the OP uses OEM, Wix, CARQUEST, NAPA or whatever. But he should use a filter correct for the application, not whatever somebody thinks fits.

Sorry for trying to help. Don't mean to confuse anyone. I only replied with the filter numbers I found published on the filter cross reference sites, not what I think fits. Apparently they're all wrong.

Unreal! I had no idea they actually switched to different engines in the same model. I never would have that about that. thanks for posting that.

Do ford dealers have tractor filters or do I need to go to new holland? 50 miles away.

How many quarts of oil? Manual says 8.5 with filter. A thread said that was wrong.

ford hasn't been with new holland in a loooong time.

that said.. there are many 'truck' filters that will fit many OLD ford tractors. ( motorcraft fl1a type filter is common on OLDER machines ) .. but for those .. it's cheaper to just hit walmart or the auto store.

I realized that, that is why I asked, and why before someone gave a Ford part #, I never thought of calling them. But then I thought maybe they support some old stuff. One of the filters listed for one Ford model fit Lexus, and other vehicles.

New Holland dealer can get one, will be here in by Tuesday, $29. Might as well go factory, no shipping that he mentioned. I figure even they got something else on there when I get there, the mount should be the same.

I was thinking when I find out it fits I should order a few, but then I did the math. I am curious if something else fits thats cheaper.

Another site has Wix for $11.

Have to read up on filters, and find a company with good shipping rates. I don't mind spending the money, it just seems alot for an oil filter. I realize they are critical, I usually pay for the high performance ones, even though I don't know if do anything. But a Mobil 1 filter for my truck is $12.


Not to open a can of worms, any opinions on brands, or ones that consider cheap? I usually just buy big box store truck filters, so I never heard of some of these.

I think 8.5 qts is correct. I can look in my manual but that sounds right. I like having a lot of oil in there, except at buying time.

I think some of the confusion is different engines. I am bringing to gallons of oil.

I thought about putting in 3.5 quarts and checking dipstick. But it creeps me checking at 1/2 full. People in this thread say it will be running out the starter. I was hoping to hear from someone with a Shibura diesel.

No, I don't own one. But I've done more oil changes on 2120's than just about anyone that does own one.
