GC1710 250 hr service

I'm just over 300 hrs on my 1710. The Manual states to change the coolant yearly. I do, just by draining the overflow and block and then adding fresh coolant, no flush.

There is one line that runs from my back hoe connections to in front of the hst fan, that slides forward enough that the fan hits the wire loom that protects it. Just an FYI to check on.

Don't neglect your air cleaner!

Thanks MO. I will check the hst fan area and look for the block drain. I had a mouse problem with the air cleaner, so I'm always checking it.
I did take a piece of flashing, drilled it full of holes and secured it with a hose clamp to keep the mice out...seems to have worked.

re the mouse problem, I have recently discovered that royal pine scented car air fresheners seem to work quite well, touch wood.

also, last time I changed hydrostat oil, inadvertently dropped one of the seals into drain pan, didn't notice, broke strainer trying to tighten enough to stop leak. iirc the price was about $70.00 for new strainer and a couple weeks to get it. plus about $150.00 worth of synthetic lube that drained all over the floor, plus the tractor being dead in the water for the duration.
