I didn't get my nap yesterday either...all of us work too hard. Actually this is not exactly a "slacker" group...;)

50 degrees going up to 60 today in a cooling trend with a freeze alert for Sat night/Sunday morning. Tomorrow I'll look to see if there is anything worth saving in the garden and will put a tarp on top if need be. Kinda worried about all those seeds I planted putting their oh so tender little necks up only to get them flash frozen.

Went to two rv campgrounds locally, found one with plenty of space, will move the trailer there in a week or two. I have house guests coming in next week and after they leave I will get my parking lot back to normal. Have decided to keep the trailer on my property, down by the barn, and will run an electric line over to it to keep the power on, run the hvac occasionally to dry it out inside. Am studying the site Farmer gave me about metal sheds, I think a 12x36 is the right size for my 32 foot long trailer.

TGIF all you hard workers out there. And all you bulls don't go molesting any cows...:D

36 going to 56.

Rained several times yesterday - 2 brief thunderstorms came through and created a double double - after each storm, the sun came out and we had double rainbows...then another storm but only a single rainbow. Don't recall ever seeing that many in one afternoon.

32.3F and overcast @ 07:00 ... looks like we got around 3/4" of snow last night.

Will be sunny today, but the high will only be around 42F and the second front will come in tonight, which could net us several more inches. Overnight low tonight will be around 20F and the high tomorrow will only be around 30F.

Yesterday was kinda frustrating - hate having to redo things ... but I did get quite a bit done on the grapple ... including getting the QA plate welded on. On the list for today is further work on the hydraulic cylinders ...

RS, you can't fool us with that grapple talk. probably the elevator shaft for your miniature Eiffel Tower...;)
... miniature ?

btw, some fish pics?
You'll have to settle for some gusset pics for the time being ...

Root Rake/Grapple For Kubota B2910

I keep meaning to take some fishy pics, but I need to do it at night with all the lights out except for the aquarium lights ... been too tired lately.

Maybe one with the Squeak sitting nearby licking his chops...or is he/she a she?
She's a she ... and is becoming an unholy terror ...

Constantly goes after the two other cats ... mostly in a playful sorta way ... but just pesters them to death.

Been meaning to get some video of that as well ...

40 this morning and headed to 54 today. Freeze Warning for tonight.

Got back home last night. Boy enjoyed the aquarium but too many people for him. I ended up packing him through the whole thing. At the petting tanks he wanted to play in the water. At the Otter tank he watched the water fall. Now he loved the shark tunnels. And would just stand and watch the Sharks swim overhead.

Back to the grind today. Have to get houses setup and ready for feed. Help keeps backing out this flock. But first I've got some bills to pay and get in the mail.

Drew. Don't remember if I said it before but if that carport is in a high wind exposure area get a back panel and sides for it. The way the metal is put on all its strength is in the length way. No real strength in its width. That back panel turns the metal and will add strength to its width. If it's going to be pretty well protected shouldn't have to worry about it. All depends on location.

RS careful with those cat videos. You'll become a YouTube sensation.

Poured first cup of coffee. 64° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 79° with mix of sun and clouds. It rained overnight. One task of the list. No need to wash all the dust off car and motorhome. Just need to wipe them down.
Good Morning All.

I knew a guy from northern cal. back 20 yr's ago. He looked just like your profile pic except for the hat. I have this pic in my mind of northern cal. being full of people that look like your pic. I guess the women would look a little different. If I grew my hair a little longer I would fit right in. 50° may get to mid 50's, windy again today, that's getting old. Mid 40's and rain/snow tomorrow, with 40 mph winds. It's the first day of Tee Ball for our 4 year old grandson, maybe.

Kyle, you are amazingly handy. Those Impalas were made for police duty and taxi duty too. Seriously durable cars and very fixable. And usually a very large car with a very large trunk. What year is yours?
2003. Drew, sometimes I'd trade some of my handiness for some of your "ounce of prevention". On an even swap. :)
I am no handier than most of our friends here. Youtube vids can turn an ignoramus like me into a "useful idiot".

We have grandson coming today, so thought I would cut down on the time to get around the sheep by using the Subaru to drive around the fields. The wet slapping sound of grass turning to mud as soon as the wheels passed over soon made me realise this was a bad idea. Very lucky not to have got stuck, although Dog seemed to enjoy all the slipping and sliding. As we got back onto the firm track he barked as if to say Do it again.

Maybe Dog barked as if to say "Glad we didn't get stuck and that I didn't have to get my paws muddy and cold."

Well, half angus calves will bring money too!

Farmer, my wife sent me this link. It may seem like snake oil sales, but they are not advocating any particular brand. Just coconut oil in general in your diet. Maybe let your wife read it too. I just read it about 2 days ago.

At the least, it can't hurt anything to try. We are going to try it.

RNG, that flail is really nice. I hope it works out for you.

Hope you get your old Apple/Mac going. I am struggling with an 8 year old Dell with Vista being about as slow as molasses on a cold day...Can't seem to find out what's dragging it down.

How old are your modem and/or router? They can slow you down as much or more than the machine its self. I recently replaced my old router and download speed went from high 20's to 179 this morning, but runs from 175-185 all the time now.

I've got the real common blue Linksys WRT54GL router. It is also 8 years old. We only have max 7 megs/sec download available from our plan supplier.

179 is blazing fast for now.

Things are looking very, very grim in taterland. Not looking good at all.

Two suggestions, Drew.

Ask the people that sold you the trailer about the potential overload problem with the tires. If you get no satisfaction there, ask the RV supplier who makes their house brand tire, and contact the manufacturer directly. If the manufacturer doesn't approve that application for its tires, you may have a lever to use with the trailer dealer to get the tires upgraded.

Find a weigh station and use it to measure what the trailer actually weighs. I'd probably drain the tanks, since you know what water weighs and can calculate what full weight is. Then use that number to figure out if the tires are actually overloaded. Use the info thus gained to determine if you actually have a problem, or it's just a paper tiger.:2cents:

RNG have you installed the new El Capitan OS or is your Mac a pre 2008? What kind of blades are on the flail? Love the slide side shift.

El Cap is on two laptops now, Don: an early 2011 17" Macbook Pro, and a late 11 15" Macbook Pro. The 17" was the first to take the plunge a few months ago, and that gave me enough confidence to do the same to the 15", my main computer. So far only a few inexpensive app upgrades have been needed; I was really sweating Photoshop CS4 and Dreamweaver CS4 would no longer work, but after installing a retro version of Java, they seem just fine. Not at all happy with Photo, the iPhoto replacement, as it has no easy way to access an external image editor like Photoshop, and that's a road block in the work flow of every image I use. I was able to find a work around to use the last version if iPhoto, and was up very late last night downloading it and a few other updates, but haven't had a chance to install and test them yet.

The flail mower got hammer blades. My pasture is rough and full of sticks and heavy brush, and I needed something that would cut closer to the ground than the Brushhog I've been using. Fingers crossed it'll do the trick. The next major adventure will be plumbing the hydraulics for the side shift; there are no rear facing ports on the tractor now. I've been wanting to install top and tilt for the box blade, so this may be the incentive needed to just do it all at once.

The women here dress completely different than the men: different color hats, longer hair, shorter beards, and some even wear dresses. Plenty of body hair on both genders though

The bottleneck in my Internet connection is the satellite system, the only connection I have available. It seems to get a bit better with each generation of bird they orbit, but the low data caps and high cost combine with lousy reliability make it a royal PITA.

My problem is one of data security. I use an application to track over a thousand notes that cover everything from vehicle maintenance records to birth and death dates of family members and all of our medical records. Taken by themselves they wouldn't mean much to anyone else, but combined they present a pretty clear map of how best to exploit us in many ways. Several OS generations ago, Apple dropped the ability to locally sync the notes between the iPhone and laptop, inserting their iCloud Internet based servers in the middle. There was no cost involved, but they didn't bother to provide encrypted storage of any of the data on the server. I wasn't comfortable with that situation, and stopped upgrading the OS as a result. The new iPhone I just purchased will no longer run the old notes app, but the new OS version and latest iCloud servers work together to store the data in an encrypted format on the laptop, iPhone, and on the iCloud server. I just had to figure out a way of migrating the note data from the old application to the new one, which I did using an Applescript I found on line and tweaked a bit to better do the job.

Encryption's what all the who haw is about with the FBI recently, and I'm glad Tom Cook stood his ground. If he hadn't he'd have opened everyone using an iPhone or iCloud in this country to being hacked by cyber criminals. The fact that the FBI went ahead and hired an Israeli firm to hack the phone for them is troubling, as now that it's been publicized that it is possible, the thugs will figure out how to do it as well. But Apple is still free to deploy countermeasures, which they will. If the case had gone to court and they lost, they'd have to issue a hack to their own encryption system with every OS release, effectively handing the keys over to the thugs.
