26 right now...high of 56 today...much nicer than the blustery day we had yesterday.

Pacemaker wound is healing nicely. It's a bit itchy and I must refrain from scratching it.

Wow it's been 31 days since I've been here. Seems like you all are well.

Good Grief it is like 33-32 degrees out there this morning!

I've been busy, got the loggers out with a bulldozer to rebuild the fire/access trail they took out, then I got the big 300HP Franklin from LotScapes out to cut my new perimeter/fire/access trails. I also got him to grind down all the debris/stumps in the center of the loop driveway so I could stat the process of landscaping it. I also had my girls for spring beak plus all my weekends, went to Cali for a business trip, etc. I'm doing fine and very busy & getting some seat time too!

I've got pictures, but too lazy to shrink them down. Need to find a website I can load them too to share with you all...

Unfortunately, last Saturday while just doing some minor cleanup with the tractor, unbeknownst to me I had picked up a giant screw in my left front tire. The minute I picked up a load of oak tree trunks and moved them it went flat, I was in 4x4 mode on uneven and slightly slick/muddy soil so the bumpy felt normal, and I popped the tire mostly of the rim and destroyed the bead before I noticed the problem and parked... Sigh n00b-itis strikes again (I've got like 190 hours on my tractor, you'd think I was smarter).

No I need to find me a tire shop that can sell me the correct Titan R4 tire... Google Maps search keeps trying to send me to Sears Tire... LOL...

Be well all of y'all!

God Bless,
David

41 going to 69 today in clear weather. Getting oil changed in my truck this morning, second time a RAM dealer has tried to talk me out of using synthetic oil. The young tech asked me why I wanted synthetic like I was making a dumb decision. With 10k oil changes and towing a trailer, yes, I want synthetic and I told the guy, nicely, that if I had to take the time to explain to him the advantages of synthetic oil, we were both wasting our time. He promptly confirmed they offered Pennzoil Platinum, which is excellent, just what I use. But why the push to dino oil? Brand new Chrysler dealer, new building, first time there, thankfully they built a new dealership in my small town versus the 40 minute drive I used to have.

And another new thing today, a new barber. The old guy I've been going to seems to forget how I ask him to cut my hair. Keeps doing it too short in some areas despite my reminding him every time. It's like one haircut fits all. No....off to a lady barber this afternoon on a recommendation. Surprised she is 15 bucks too in a salon. Well, will see how this goes this afternoon. Sometimes new is good. Sometimes it isn't...

Then I have some outside work to do since I made good progress on the travel trailer. Sheets and foam topper came in yesterday, I washed it all and made the bed.
Yes, a pita to get the back corners, as most of them are. The corners of the sheets must have popped off five times putting them on.
I was in dire need of some female help...

Azaleas here are starting to bloom all over, a very pretty time of year.
And best for me, I planted about 10 amaryllis plants I had been collecting from Christmases past, and since they would not rebloom inside, I said
why not try, and planted them outside last Fall in a protected spot. Wasn't sure they would survive the winter, but they did, and so far, three blooms about to start.
Now if the deer don't find them, they should be really pretty.

David, don't think you have to any more. They fixed the uploader, can upload 5 meg pics and they auto downsize now, like they used to.
So let's see those pics!
We've missed you.

Good Morning all. 31 here this morning going to 61. Sunny today and then rain the rest of the week, sunny Saturday. Have to get the lawn mowed today because we have people coming to look at the tractor this weekend and I want to be done mowing before then. Need to wash it too. Kinda sad thinking of selling the Massey but It is time to move on to a different life.
A friend is coming over this morning to hang out and play some music, always a good time when he comes.

Roy Glad to hear you are healing well. Ed

Should 2-4d be applied to your garden area a month before planting?

The tiller will kill just as many weeds as the spray will and it costs less, I also don't buy the line about the spray won't hurt you.

Good morning! 69˚ chance of rain. I got Dad's Cattleguard ordered with cement beams for it to sit on and it should be here this weekend. I need to get the area marked before I start digging. I know there is a water line and telephone line in the area. I also need to pick up a 10' culvert extension and move a fence corner over 10'.

David S - Are you going to have internet access on the ship or just in ports?

David M - looks like your daughter is doing the "Dance of the flat tire".

31 going to 66. Should be a perfect day.

Got another load of firewood cut yesterday morning with the mild temperatures...took 5 pulls to get my splitter running, not bad compared to its worst days...maybe if I gave it a name it would be more responsive...any ideas?

David, sorry about your tractor tire - I almost suffered that fate last month with a load of firewood - popped the front tire bead off the rim when I hit a stump, but I noticed almost immediately and took it to a truck stop to get reseated. In addition to Buppies' Salem store you could price out a new one at the Ashland Kioti dealer, or at the Ashland Hoober, or Dickenson's in Fred.

David Hawaii - have a great trip!!

... David M - looks like your daughter is doing the "Dance of the flat tire".

She was amazed she could shake she tractor by kicking the tire...

She really is all that... Love that little girl I do...

Middle pic is me, daughter, and my new wife at my daughter's birthday...

Be well all,

David

43 this morning and headed to 75 today. Rain on its way tomorrow need to get caught up from a day off work yesterday.

Back to the chicken coops today.

MFW glad everything is going well. Nice pics.

31.7F and clear @ 08:00 ... supposed to be mostly cloudy today, but a high of 64F ...

Got registration renewed on the van yesterday, but no joy @ the LFS on getting a diaphragm for the air pump.

Also got the tops of the new shelves/workbenches up in the shop cleared off yesterday ... and still have some room left on the shelves. Will probably head up there in a little bit and get a fire started to warm things up a bit, until it warms up outside.

Have to meet with a friend today, out at the place his wife is looking at leasing to open up a daycare center, to get a look at it.

After that back to the house, mebbe with a stop at the local corner gas station for some diesel for the parts washer. The fluid has gotten pretty oily/dirty.

Got the mill scale stripped off most of the two 2" cross tubes for bottom of the grapple yesterday, except for the last 6" on one end, which I was using to grab onto and rotate the pipes. Should be able to get those ends cleaned off today, along with the two triangular/trapazoid pieces that are the mounts for the QA plate. Also need to finish cleaning up the 2" x 3" rectangular cross tube. Once I have those done, I can start welding the parts for the bottom half of the grapple together, possibly later tonight or tomorrow. Assuming I get the rest of the welding table cleared off.

I have three other pieces - mount for the rear remotes, mount for the diverter valve, mount for the quick couplers on the cross tube of the loader - which were previously stripped, that I will hit again with the muriatic acid ... just to clean off a minor amount of light surface rust. Should be able to get those primed and painted later today or tonight.

Need to clean off the four auxiliary batteries in the van and top them up with distilled water ... which shouldn't take too long, and get the MMM pulled out of the barn and moved over to the house, as the grass is really starting to grow. Probably safe to put away the snow blower at this point, and get it out from in front of the house. Probably pull some more stuff out of the barn while I'm at it.

Also need to finish mulching around the blueberry bushes and fill the bird feeders.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day.
