34 right now high of 40 later wind blowing at 15 to 40 mph been like that since yesterday. Wicked weather all around and I'm afraid more due yo next week as similar set up due next week. Ohio Kentucky West Virginia snow severe storms SC NC VA.

Back to parking lot tomorrow then start paving next week. Finish that one on to another almost identical provided rain doesn't get me

Have to go in this morning for glucose monitor to be installed for weekend very uncomfortable to say the least not looking forward to weekend of no sleep. Suppose that's why I'm up now worrying about this but it's my own fault not checking my sugar level enough. You would think I would learn

Being a diabetic is no fun, every now and then we pretend it's not there and buck the system only to get bitten in the butt!

34° early, going to low 40's, very strong winds for the third day in a row. My back yard is soft but not mucky since it's clay and sand with 150LBS of Lesco grass seed in the last 4 years, and I have a foot of drop per hundred feet across my property. There's a little creek in a slough that feeds the Wicomico river about 1000' below my place and it keeps us pretty well drained. I remember growing up in northeastern NC, you could stand in the grass and pump your feet up and down, in about 30 seconds you'd be standing in water!

Kev FTN & John, we can do trains too - occasionally :)

Last night I turned on the tv for the last few minutes of the local news and there were pictures of the iconic Flying Scotsman, back on the rails after a rebuild that has taken 10 years.

Eric
I have seen many stories about the Flying Scotsman. Wish there was a O scale model that did not cost as much as most of them do..

Wife is home today for some teacher's day off so everyone gets the day off.
So no plans. I did waste 2 hours of my life last night watching what was little better than a playground shouting match on CNN. At least if it had been on a playground they would of finished it off with a fist fight. :confused2: And these guys want to be world leaders?
The sun is out, it is 29 and heading to 40. Nice.

Good Morning! 53 F @ 7:30 AM. Partly cloudy. High 71F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph.

Rain showers are due in tonight, but it'll only amount to a few hundredths of an inch. We're now below normal again on snowfall in the mountains; we never got to normal on rainfall.

Hope our other missing fellows are in as nice a place as Gary. Palm Coast. If ever there were a quintessential name for a town in Florida, that is it!

Managed to get the front yard plants cleaned up with the gas powered clippers yesterday, and this afternoon it's the back yard's turn. But more computer work this morning first.

My partner in crime on the motorcycle club web site was complaining yesterday that his little rosemary plant died. I mentioned that mine were all in bloom and took a few pics to share with him. Today I'll drop a big envelope of rosemary and thyme trimmings in the mail to him.

66°F and .95 inches rain last 24 hours.

Hopefully, I can finish painting my deck framing today, wx permitting.

Be safe
Have a great day.

David,

How do you like that new flail mower?

How well do you think one like it would work on rough ground, perhaps equipped with a set of hammer blades?

How high can the cut height be set?

Getting ready to pull the trigger on one, and this manufacturer's prices are very competitive...

TIA!

Performed really well, no complaints.

My ground is a bit rough. Used to be sugarcane then a cow pasture, so never been properly prepped like a lawn - it is just field. Even have a couple places I hang up or on just 3 wheels if I hit it right. I have the hammers mounted, actually prefer them. I think the max adjustable height is 6inches, I keep mine set low and just use the 3pt.

32 this morning and headed to 45 today.

Go pickup taxes and get some feed for cows. As that didn't happen yesterday. Daycare called on my way to get feed and son was having a fit. A painful crying fit. After talking to them and finding out what was going on, I took him home. Best we can tell what they had for lunch hurt his belly and his fit was from that. Which I had my suspicions that was what was wrong when I left. Seams fine this morning and had a good night.

Any of you ever do this??? It works very good and best of all it is easy. Here is what I posted in the repair thread earlier. Just thought I would share it here to.
Soldering Plastic
Had a chance to do something new today. I pitched a large log into the back of the Gator CX when it was below O and cracked the plastic bed. So I went into town to the body shop and asked what kind of glue they use on car bumper covers. The guy said we don’t we solder them up. Solder them up I asked??? He said sure. He said if it is black plastic it is easy, if it is yellow plastic your out of luck. So I asked him how he does it. He said just get a old solder iron with the big blade and heat it up and melt it into the crack and weld a bead of extra plastic in as you go along. I said sounds good I have one of those solder irons, do they sell the plastic filler because I don’t have any extra plastic to fill it with. He said hold on and he went and got a old broken inner plastic fender well and said just cut some strips out of this and give it a try. It works and I learned something new today.

That would be HDPE plastic. You can also buy a plastic hot air gun with different tips.

My top load washer wouldn't spin. Bought a new coupler and installed it. It spunwhile empty. But broke again on the 1st load. Went to the local appliance store and the guy highly recommended the old school no electronics top load Speed Queen. Engineered for 25 year lifespan. It will be delivered tomorrow.

We started welding plastic in the 80's, we had a kit with a gun and multiple plastic rods of different colors and types of plastic.

You can also weld ABS. The trick is not to get any plastic too hot when working with it. And like metal, to have it very clean.
