Good morning!!!!

27 this morning and headed to 46 today. Nice big frost last night. Really good to see considering its January.

Wife needs to go to school today to get things ready for next week. So looks like I'll have the boy for at least part of the day. I made a joke with her last night that me and the boy would go see how much money we could spend today if she just had to go to school. She didn't see any humor in it and I got a bad look. Guess I'll let her see me get the checkbook. And see what happens.

Mostly. Boys hearing is better. He follows directions once attention is gotten. His vocabulary has doubled since thanksgiving. Really showing signs of improvement. Hopefully it doesn't go backwards as he is changing speech therapist. Old one is giving up this county (semi-retiring) and a new one is already picking up the case loads. So won't miss any sessions but he has to adjust to someone new. Although he's been doing remarkably well with that as he has also gotten a new OT. They are really helping him. Of course we're doing what we can too. We cut fingernails this week without a screaming fit. I still had to hold him in my lap with my legs but he let me clip his nails. If only he'd potty train.

good morning all, January 2. All day...

40 degrees out only climbing to 50 today in a cooldown that is long overdue. Forecast is still dry for a week; maybe I'll have a chance of getting some truckloads of stone in mid next week without them getting stuck, again.

going to see Star Wars at the matinee today. That should be fun.
A different kind of fun than yesterday when I thoroughly enjoyed rolling around on my new concrete shed floor on my rolling seat, working on various machinery.
Front wheels/tires of the Gravely are done, now the rear wheels to paint.

Did way too much yesterday, a dozen trips up the stairs hauling Christmas stuff back to storage. It may go down quicker but it's not any lighter...
and I still don't have the Christmas tree put away. Maybe after I take her to a movie and dinner my lady friend will help me take it down tonight.
She's quite sensible, knows how to work for food...;)

Drew, I see that Hi-Lift jack and I think about your back and neck....Now that you have a concrete floor, treat yourself to a nice aluminum roll around jack. One with a very low minimum height to get it under low stuff, but will still raise it enough to get your jack stands under it.....You can thank me later. :) And I truly hope that some of those bullets were fireworks. I would have called the sheriff if I thought they were bullets.

Bupps, sorry for your back. Does Advil help?

Don, do you keep your firesuit in your truck? Glad they all got out. Wonder what started it?

Still cold here. Upper 30's to upper 40's. I burned a small pile of deadwood yesterday. I got all my tools finally picked up from working on the car. Need to post a video to youtube of it running. Have one of it before I tore it down.

Trying to make up my mind either to BBQ some pork chops or just pan fry them... Kind of cold outside. I bought some pepperidge farms stuffing to go along with them.

A lot of beatdowns happening in the bowl games. Stanford looked mighty good, and that McCaffrey young man, what a talent. He makes guys miss like Johnny Football, only I can tell that his parents will keep him grounded (I hope). If you didn't see it, google his highlights. Phenomenal.

Wifey brought me coffee first thing this am. Life is good. One day at a time. Be sure to let everyone you see, know that you care about them.

Big old white frost this morning, around 25°. Mid 40's today they say and for a change we have bright sunshine! I went out and washed the siding on the garage this morning.

Drew;

If you have a Harbor Freight close by these aluminum 1.5 ton jacks are great. Now on sale for $90 so with 20% off coupon you can get one for about $72. We have a Craftsman 3 ton for big lifts but use the 1.5 ton for most jobs. Very light to move around as well. I rarely use my hi-lift jack.

Kyle, I only keep my brush fire gear in my pickup. The fire truck carries 4 sets of structure gear. I'm the farthest away so usually the trucks are gone when I get to the station. But during working hours I'm the 1st or 2nd one to the station.
Reportedly the Fire started in the kitchen.
