Pouring Hydro oil from pail.

Get that little pump from TSC, it's worth the money. I really like that it's a dual action pump so it pumps fluid on both strokes. The little connecter that comes with it to tie it into the spout is junk s o I used a hose clamp but don't clamp it too tight, just tight enough that you can pump with one hand. You need to let air get in to replace the fluid you're pumping out.

I had a guy out working on my forklift last week that was super excited about that pump, I think he probably left here and went straight to TSC to buy one.

Lay the pail down, overhanging edge a little on a flat surface - Spout and handle up - Remove cap. Roll pail til it pours, adjusting by roll angle.

Guess maybe I’m missing something. Is there some reason a plain old funnel won’t work? It’s all I’ve ever used and it works fine.

Lifting a five gallon bucket of fluid up and pouring in a controlled fashion into a funnel that often is in a tricky place on the tractor is not the easiest job in the world.

I use the hose part of a Kentucky credit card. With the optional transparent hose.
Then later I use it to transfer diesel, which washes it out.

if you will read the thread about siphoning gas, you will find that a lot of modern vehicles contain devices to "decline" that Kentucky credit card!:)

what's the hard part of using a 5 gallon bucket and funnel

Lifting and holding the weight of 5 gals (35+ lb) of oil in an awkward position for an extended time.

As a society we used to haul 100 lb sacks of feed, 80 lb sacks of fertilizer, Cement and mortar mix and think nothing of it. I wouldn't think anything of slinging a sack of feed on my shoulder, or loading 2 tons of bagged fertilizer on the pickup every other day for three weeks, and unload it into the corn planter. Now we look for crutches to help with 35 lb pails.

Yes, boys & girls, I am including myself in this commentary, although I still can pour oil from a 5 gallon pail (for now).
