Pat, correct me if I've missed something. I think our version has better longevity because of wearing on the complete ball surface. The hook is wearing in a much smaller area. Secondly, if one lower arm is cranked down to set a plow for example the hook is now wearing on it's corner where the ball can simply swivel and still maintain a complete wear surface. Maybe????

I used a floor jack to spread the lower arms

I think this is "old". Meaning that problem has been corrected.
I watched a lot of videos on QHs, and most of the issues didn't exist on mine.
The one that did, and it's noteworthy, is the top hook width. The easiest fix is here:
