tilt vs deckover with ramps loading tractor?

after ramming rocks off road with my trailer this weekend I realized I should switch over to a deck over tilt for ground clearance issues. Dove tail seems to catch everything. Whats the point of the 4 feet flat section?

The flat 4' section is is the front and does not tilt. It's where you can place implements and keep them there, and still tilt the rear section.

That 4' section also provides extra tongue weight when empty. I suspect it makes that style tow better empty than my 16' tilting deck with no platform (but does have a long tongue).

Humm... Maybe I should think about trying to put a small platform up front on mine for a bit more storage & tongue weight (while empty, tows fine properly loaded)

How about setting up a trailer jack on the back corners of the trailer and just adjust them to level out the back of the trailer? Just a thought, instead of purchasing another trailer.

The stationary deck also moves the axles back a little a bit. We now have a gooseneck 26ft trailer with 22 ft tilt, 4 foot stationary, it pulls great.
