Headache racks

At this point I'm also pricing out a Leer cap with roof rack, if I'm going to spend that much money on a rack the cap seems more versatile.

GWH,
I'm also looking at that option. I've never had a cap before, so I'm trying to decide if I that's the route I want to go instead of just adding a headache rack.

In my ideal world, I'd have a crew cab 3/4 ton with 8' bed and all my worries would be over. I can't get used to these short beds. I guess I'm old school and still think a truck should have an 8' bed.

I've actually had a cap on a previous truck and while it was great sometimes it was a PITA others. I'm trying to decide weather or not to install a gn hitch in the bed for future needs. I'm planning to get a spray on liner installed and would prefer to put the hitch in first.
The problem is I'm too indecisive as to how to set it up. If I do go with the cap it will be mostly a winter option so it wouldn't really effect the GN hitch as I rarely tow in the winter months.
