Oil filter doesn't fit!! Weird

So i bought a used CT235. Oil looks nasty, so i went and got oil and a filter. Drained the oil, pulled the filter, and the new one doesn't fit. The new one is the Napa 1324. The old one is a Bobcat filter, but i can't find a valid part number on it.

The threaded hole in the new one is bigger than the old one. I brought it to a parts store, and the wix they have is identical to the Napa. What do i do?

My next step is to try a Bobcat dealer to see if they can figure out what the old one is, but no one will be open until Monday. Any ideas?

Kioti dealers are a bit far. The one that came off the tractor uses 18x1.5 threads, nearest i can tell. The NAPA and Wix ones are 20x1.5

You can always put the old one back on until you find the right sized new one.

Yes, i could. But then, how will i find the right one? I won't have one to compare to....

I have a wix 51324 on my ct235 right now. Perfect fit. Going to change pan and oil on it tomorrow. I have a new 51324 I will put on then. May take a picture or two of my oil pan change and comment more at that time.

The WIX 51324 is identical to the Napa filter i have. The NAPA guy says Wix makes the Napa filters too. The parts store guy pulled the 51324 and we measured. Identical. 1324 = 51324

That's the part the filter screws into. I'm wondering if someone swapped that out at some point. Any idea if these are locally available?

You can usually have the dealer mail filters to you, My dealer is 2 hour drive there and back they have no problem mailing items. Just a option.

Won't help my situation. The filter on the tractor isn't the stock one.

Is there a way to find an illustrated parts list for this machine? If i can find that filter adapter, i could buy the stock one and put it on.

Go here and follow instructions. Bobcat Parts - Bobcat Company

You will find the part # is 6696871 for the adapter. Washer is 6696904, filter 6696286. Parts will show under the gear cover.

I will have my oil pan and filter off in a couple of hours and will report back what I find on my sizing. Just know for sure the wix filter is a fit.

Hard to see the benefit for an individual to change the adaptor to a non stock filter.

Back in the day on the farm my dad would do that on a lot of the tractors to stock one filter as much as possible. Installed remote filters on some but would return it to stock if he sold it.

Alright, so the plot thickens, substantially.
I called up the local bobcat dealer, and ordered a list of parts. Got all the filters, and a pin. Took a bit to get the pin, so i asked them to ship it all together, and just received it all.
I ordered both the oil filter, and the "tube, connecting" which is the adapter in the picture i took above.

To my surprise, the new filter, which is the factory part, is the exact same size as the one on the tractor. It's an 18mm threaded hole. The "tube, connecting" is identical to the one on the tractor. WTF?

So, i have no clue as how to locally source filters. My bobcat dealer isnt really local, and closes at 4, im assuming because they cater to contractors, not shmuck home owners, like me.

Has anyone else had this issue? It's strange.
