I've had zero issues and I've had it loaded to its max +. I'm not a big fan of the fenders they are a little thin.

Does anybody hall there tractors in a dump trailers? If so what brand? Do you have pictures?.

Yes. So far no issues, but can haul tractor and a short implement like a box blade only. I have a Load Trail 7x14 6 cubic yard dump that is goose neck - but I use fifth wheel king pin. Much easier to hook up to than a bumper pull. The trash transfer operator tells me that my dump operates much faster than the other brands that come to the facility. I have had many great comments about the Load Trail. Came standard with spare, roll up tarp, 3 way tail gate and heavy duty ramps. Also has built in 110 volt trickle charger and battery can be maintained from the 7 way plug when attached to the towing vehicle. (if the tow is so equipped)

Does anyone have experience with deck-over dump trailers with fold down sides? I would think they would be heavier, but would be convenient for loading pallets, firewood etc.

I don't have direct experience with them but the only downside I see is the sides are higher in the up position making loading things in the dump box harder if loading by hand. Doesn't look too tall to load with any kind of tractor. Also the deck floor is higher and there is no dovetail so it will be steep or you will need really long ramps if loading a tractor or something in the bed. My 16' low pro was low enough and had long enough ramps that I could have driven a car up in the bed if I wanted to.

I have a 10k 6x10 deckover. I wanted the overall width the same as the box. No tires or fenders in the way. It works great and seems very stable. I liked it so much I even had a another brand custom priced with all the bells and whistles but I was unsure about the powder coat they used and decided to stick with what I have. I would look for one with a better paint quality.

Yes, I think a drop down side would be nice and if starting over I would get it. But so far it has been relatively a minor consideration. Throwing things over the side or from rear not too big a deal so far, and hauling dirt or stone not an issue unless you want to shovel out by hand to the side. Camm trailers makes a deckover that also dumps to the side! Two things that were standard, but options on some other brands, are the wireless remote and built in charger...real nice features. Btw, it is a Homesteader brand, but there are other good and better ones out there. One thing I do not like and was an over site on my part was the control/toolbox is not tapered to frame. Gets in the way on sharp turn backups.

New dump trailer day - 10k Loadtrail 5x10 with 16" LRE tires. No real plan to haul the B21 but if I need to take it to the dealer it will fit if I take off the backhoe.

I had a nice 14k 20' PJ equipment trailer that I used to bring the B21 across country from Virginia. It was legal in Virginia but to my surprise I would need a CDL to use it in California. So I traded it on the 10k dump.

So what was/is it in California that made it CDL? Does California have CDL rules that are different than 26k?
I know that if you have a GVWR of the tow vehicle over 26k and trailer over 10k my state requires CDL but if the tow vehicle is less than 26k GVWR then you can have trailer over 10k.
Just curious.

Nice looking trailer. Really a 10' trailer is all you need for hauling dirt or gravel. You can't fill up a larger trailer anyway without being way overweight.


I believe commiefornia requires a CDL for any trailer over 10k.
