My wife is doing fine today. picked up 2 new epi pins. they now come 2 with a persciption, they told her since most kids with them have to leave one with the school. I told her about the temperature limit on them.

I am at my Dads doing hay. Got here in time to do the last 5 of 7 loads, probably about 350 today. will probably have 150 tomorrow to do. A neighbor is supposed to round bale for him, but he is behind on his own hay due to all the rain, so dad has started square baling some. He gets all the tractor time, I get to pick them up and toss up into the barn. Had my brother in law and a couple others here also, so it went pretty quick.

Another neighbor, brother to the one that is going to bale for him, brought him a homemade blackberry cobbler his wife had made today. Very good. My parents had a 4-H club for many years, and these guys were in the club with us, many years ago........

RIP Mikim

FOR ALL EPI PEN USERS - I hope you find this helpful. This is supposedly the only long term study done on storage of epi pens.

Long-term stability of epinephrine dispensed in unsealed syringes for the first-aid treatment of anaphylaxis Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Volume 102, Issue 6, June 2009, Pages 500–503 Background: When epinephrine autoinjectors are unavailable or unaffordable, patients at risk for anaphylaxis in the community are sometimes provided with an unsealed syringe containing a premeasured epinephrine dose for use in first-aid treatment of anaphylaxis episodes.

Objectives: To study the stability of epinephrine solution in unsealed syringes under conditions of high ambient temperature, low vs high humidity, and light vs dark.

Methods: Forty unsealed syringes each containing an epinephrine dose of 0.3 mg (as a 1-mg/mL epinephrine solution) were stored at 38°C for 5 months, with 10 syringes at each of 4 different standardized storage conditions: dark and light at low (15%) humidity and dark and light at high (95%) humidity. Duplicate syringes were removed monthly from each storage environment and analyzed for epinephrine content vs control syringes.

Results: The epinephrine dose, expressed as the percentage remaining of the mean control dose, was below compendial limits (90% to 115% of label claim) by 3 months after storage at 38°C and low humidity and by 4 months after storage at 38°C and high humidity. Light had no significant effect.

Conclusion: In hot climates, if an unsealed syringe prefilled with an epinephrine dose is provided for the first-aid treatment of anaphylaxis, it should be replaced every few months on a regular basis with a new syringe containing a fresh dose of epinephrine.

Storage and Stability Always store EpiPen® or EpiPen® Jr in the carrier tube with the blue safety release on until you need to use it. Store at 25°C (77°F); EXCURSIONS PERMITTED TO 15° - 30°C (59 ° - 86°F). Do not refrigerate. Protect from light. Periodically check to make sure the solution in the auto-injector is not brown in color. Replace if it is discolored or contains a precipitate.

good evening all. Low was 77F high was 103 HI=?(too Hot!) mostly sunny and light breeze. Got last assembly done from move (nick knack shelves) and some power washing done. Day got cut short because w were meeting step-daughter for dinner in Denton while she got her bike back from shop. Wife found some magnetic curtain rods for back door, wish I could find some 24" coil stock that easy. I need it for the work bench.

Mike Kennedy RIP

Good morning, we have just had a very refreshing shower of rain. Could do with a lot more, ideally after our neighbour's party this evening. So many people coming, it has to be outside.

Wife found some magnetic curtain rods for back door

My wife has been reminding me to put up a new fly curtain for a couple of weeks now, but as we have only had a few flies get in and so far the wasps have yet to show, I have managed to keep this job back on the low priority list. This is the first time I have heard of magnetic curtains, so I told her too ( possibly hoping I could stall for a while longer). She tells me those waiting to go up ARE magnetic. No more execuses then, however, what I need to know now is ... How do you manage to get the flies to injest sufficient iron filings to stick to the magnet ? :confused2:

Coffee is done brewing. 60° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 83° with a chance of a stray thunderstorm this afternoon. Mother is still in hospital. BP is under control. But has Pneumonia. Visit her this morning then a family picnic in afternoon.
Eric, you need to spar the flies with metallic paint first. Then they stick to the magnetic strip every time. :D
Good Morning All.

59 heading to 89. Pleasant humidity continues.

Got my chainsaw work completed before it got too hot yesterday. Then cleared some flood overflow silt and sand from the bridge approaches with the FEL. Mowed a couple of hours, and have only a couple more to do today.

Ron, sorry to hear your mom is sick.
