Oil & Fuel Where are these fluids coming from?

I only see a yellow wire hanging down.. Like carey said.. Most likely goes to the oil sending unit where the oil is leaking out

Yeah, that photo's not great. I'm almost positive there are two wires there, but I'll double-check tomorrow.

Oil won't shoot out, might get a few dribbles. Your oil light is not an indicator your oil level is low, it indicates oil pressure is low. Of course low oil pressure can come from low oil level.

But ,I can't figure how he's even getting a oil light to light up with what appears to be a broken sensor and no wire ?? Someone may have installed a oil sensor somewhere else on the tractor

My guess is the wire maybe touching metal and it will ground out and the light will come on. I believe there looks to be a BLK. wire also. And looks to be the same as the Blk. wire wrapped around the Radiator overflow Bottle. There maybe a sensor to read the water level?

I found my 336 wireing Dia. and it's showing Yellow to the Oil sending switch. the other blk? Thermo Start? or it could be water level. Nothing showing on for a water bottle though.

Okay, good news and bad news. The good (actually, great) news is, the oil sending switch replacement stopped the oil leak. Thank god. Bad news is, the temperature gauge is still redlining after less than 10 minutes of run-time.

I'm going back over there tomorrow to work on the overheating issue, but thanks to all of you who helped me sort out the leaking oil issue. I feel much better today than I did yesterday, and it only cost me $15 in parts.

If it overheats in just 10 minutes the temp gauge may be bad.

This may be a stupid question, but...what exactly is the gauge measuring? The water temp in the radiator? The oil temp? Something else? I'm not even sure what to troubleshoot at this point...

I don't know about your tractor but my YM1700 did not com with any gauges but my temp light kept coming on. I think the sensor was bad. I installed a temp gauge and oil pressure gauge. Now i know for sure. The temp gauge measures temperature of the water coming out the block and the oil pressure gauge measures oil pressure. You might want to get a infared gun to verify temp. They are cheap at Harbor Freight. I can only speak for my personal experience

If overheating that quickly I would check the thermostat. May be stuck closed.
