The LPGS land plane grading scraper with two blades and skids

KK-Pro-Dual-Edge-Land-Grader-3.jpg

compared to the three or four bladed Road sled or drag with no skids.

Has anyone ever used both and can compare? What are the benefits and drawbacks of each?

When comparing the two models above the key word for the drag is "cumbersome". I much prefer a lpgs for my uses much easier to work with and I get good results. While a nice drag type can get great results since building a lpgs I just don't think the benefit is worth the trouble dealing with the drag.

Here is a lpgs I built that is 4' wide and perfect for a BX sized tractor.

yeah, it's 4-wheel steering.
Not as funny as it was in my mind, I guess.

Hey, we all have those moments where something just does not look right but we can't figure out why!

If you look at the land plane while it is 4 ft wide it does have skids that are 5 ft. long. That really helps smooth out a driveway or lawn area yet is easy enough to lift with a smaller machine. Most of the ready made lpgs I see have shorter skids about 4 ft. long. Also the rectangular box tubing doesn't collect rocks to drop where you don't want them, I find that to be a short coming of most lpgs.
