On my L45, I just leave the throttle on "auto" if I am driving around. That way, as I come to a stop the machine drops to a nice and quiet idle. When I'm using the PTO I set to PTO speed of 540rpm (~2600rpm?). When I'm using the hoe, I'll set the rpms for comfortable working pace of the hydraulics (usually ~2k for me). If I'm doing a lot of loader work, and I want the loader to move reasonably quick, I'll leave the throttle on "auto" but set the hand throttle for ~2k rpm. That way the loader is quick, but the machine isn't screaming the whole time unless it needs to be.

That was one thing I liked better about my GST on the L39. I could use the foot throttle to raise RPMs instantly to make the hydraulics work fast.

kicking myself all over the property today, never looked in the box the 3 point came in. dropped the backhoe off for the first time today and went to put the disc on and came to the horrible conclusion that they did not send the lift arms. doubt at this point i can do much but drop the 169.00 a piece to get new ones.
120 hours now and love this thing, the 4n1 bucket has proved to be awsome, yes its not a grapple but doing dirt work it is hands down 50% more useful then a regular bucket. back hoe thumb is great, put 1 turn in the linkage at the valve and now it responds much quicker, still have the leak at the coupler on the tractor for the thumb but its more of a seep. other than that no complaints

My 3 point arms are stowed under the unit under the platform, do not remember which side, They were there when delivered.

looked there first, dealer says he is going to "take care of it" for me, yet to see them, and now way behind on running the disc over the garden. looked under the beast but they are not there, store on the mount side.

When I ordered my L45, the dealer said they had to order the 3 point equipment separate, it required three attempts to get all the pieces, especially the brackets for the top link. They are stowed along the left hand frame rail just in front of the rear tire, but I do not leave them stowed on the tractor anymore, I use it the woods all the time around stumps and bent one of the lift arm brackets bad enough I almost needed to cut the brackets to get the lift arm removed from the stowage location.

Hi workingallthetime

Yes I too have had a problem with the front remote "sticking" sometimes. I have the top button set to "open" for all of my accessories and the bottom one to "close". Particularly when the L45 is cold (it occasionally gets cold here in Canada) I have found that the close or lower button will stick but I have never had the upper button stick. I have found that just hitting the top button will switch the flow and release the stuckness. Interestingly I have not had the sticking all this summer so far so it will be interesting to see if it returns when we get the cooler weather in the fall.

I too have found the 4in1 much more handy than I expected. If you drop a rock on the trail it is so nice to just pick it up and go rather than either have to dismount and roll it in the bucket or for larger rocks turn the machine around and grab it with the hoe. I got mine because the dealer gave me a $1,000 credit for the standard bucket and so I decided to spend the extra $1,000 and get the 4in1 bucket. I had my hydraulically adjustable forks on my B26 so I had already had the front remotes installed on the L45 for the forks so the incremental cost for the 4in1 bucket was not a big deal.

I have quite a bit of work to do over the next three or four weeks and then I will have to take mine in for the 800 hour service. I am glad that will be done before winter hits. My dealer only stocks and installs Super UDT so mine has been running it since the initial 50 hour service at least. I can't say I noticed a difference in performance after the 50 hour service though.

Regards,

Lauren

So the 3rd function stick is common. Nice to know because I was wondering if mine sticking had anything to do with my pressures set to the max of the spec maybe a few pounds over 2750 psi.
Sticking can't be good for the pump, but my L39 has maybe 1800 hours on it, no issues.

Has anyone had the third function hoses get pinched between the bucket and loader arm? Do not know if they were routed wrong. Would be nice if some one has a picture of the routing for the replacement hoses.
P.S. do not let John Thomas know I have a L45 from Barlows he might fall prey to tractor envy. Roughly 3K less than local.

Go to surplus center and order some of the poly block hose mounts

L39 & L45 needs

1. 10 x 16.5 8 Ply front R4's

2. 43 x 20 R4's rear 8 ply

3. More hp!

4. More wear resistant pins on loader.

5. L39 needs beefier front axle and curl cylinders from L45.

6 Filled tires or weights

All in all a short list.

Lower price??

Do you feel the L45 is underpowered?I ask because I am thinking of buying one,I have another thread on here about it.

You can always use more HP, but I think it has sufficient HP for what it is made to do.
