Has any one used the HD round back bucket they show on the build my Kubota site?

I have that one on mine. Since I have not used a lot of other Kubota equipment, I can't compare it much. I will say that after about 5 months of use, other than paint, it is not damaged or dinged up at all. Whereas my old light duty John Deere bucket (much lighter bucket on a much lighter tractor) was bent the very first day that I bought it.

waiting on 1 last part, scheduled for delivery today. they will pick it up and install the 4n1 and thumb next week. i have been using the round back bucket with no issues other than large rocks dont slide in over the bolt on cutting edge. i have loaded the bucket completly full of wet loam soil and she picked it up with no issues. My b3030 had 700ish hours on it and this is at least twice the machine, not just in hp but just in the size of everything. i dug a HUGE tree out last night, i atempted the same tree with the b3030 and the bh would not cut through the roots, even with the large bucket on this thing it was no issue.
my only complaint on the l45 is how much it "boggs" down going up hills but i can live with that, after all it weighs 7300 lbs.

i cant say enough about how great kubota center in Tulsa did on this deal. even with the massive delay in getting all my add on's the price and the general attitude has been great!!!

she was delivered back today with a thumb, the 3 point hardware and the 4n1. i did put about a hour on it tonight and can say there is a pretty big difference in weight from the light duty to the 4n1, the 4n1 is noticably heavier when operating it. i did find it very easy to use with the kubota set up, i have never operated a 4n1 so there is going to be a pretty big learning curve. the thumb is a little slow but the foot operation is pretty cool.
if any of you guys have alot of experience with a 4n1 is there anything i should watch out for?

Hi workingallthetime

Glad to hear you finally have Humpty Dumpty all together! :)

I know someone who is going to have a lot of fun this weekend.

Did you get the cutting edge put on your 4in1? I had it added to mine to stiffen the upper jaw as I was worried about bending it. I have picked up lots of logs and rocks with it and not had any problems over the last two plus years. I did bend the edge a little bit when I picked up a piece of 4.5" OD pipe but I was able to straighten it out with a sledge so the only caution I would give you is be careful clamping on steel.

I am looking forward to seeing some more photos. Are you keeping the standard bucket?

Regards,

Lauren

Lauren,
i did not get the bolt on cutiing edge for the 4n1, i guess i did not look deep enough when i was building it. i went from a b3030 with a fel, tooth bar and bh to a l45 with a 4n1, pallet forks, standard bucket,bh, and a thumb (3 point also).
i dont know if it is me but i could swear the BH seems "weeker" since the thumb was installed, it is new enough that alot of the add on's seem to hang in the engaged position. i noticed it first with one of the outriggers, today while i was playing around i noticed the 3rd function for the 4n1 was doing it until she got to operating temp then things started behaving.
i will hang some pics up as soon as i can

Hi workingallthetime

I noticed my hoe seemed a little weak one day too and discovered that the rods under the seat that you pull for three point hitch work had shifted and were not pushed all the way in. I now check them on a regular basis and make sure they are pushed all the way in when using the hoe.

I leave my L45 with stall guard and auto down shift on because I have a fairly steep hill from the lower part of my property to the higher backyard area. If you have auto down shift on, one thing I do is when loading into my trailer I push the steering column lever to put it in low range while backing into the trailer. The ramps are steep enough into my dumper that one of the first times I was backing it in my dumper it was struggling to go up the ramps and then suddenly down shifted and took off like a scalded cat. By forcing it into turtle range before backing on you don't get the down shift and sudden burst of adrenaline!

She looks real good with all the accessories. I hope you are not laboring too much this weekend.

Regards,

Lauren

i finf it interesting the fel can pick up more than the bh, i think 2200ish on the fel and 1200ish on the bh. i am still a novice with the 4n1 but my gosh that think is handy. i cant belive how much i use it, one thing i keep meanig to ask you is if your 4n1 sticks sometimes. i close or open and it kind of hangs up in the position for a second, if i shake the fel lever it stops. It is noticable because i can tell the hydo power is weeker for a moment until it releases.
i love the machine i think i have almost 30 hours after today, in just a couple weeks i will be doig that 50hr service and then i will be running her hard.
when i go to get all the stuff for the 50 hr i am going to order the cutting edge for the 4n1.
i wonder how super udt will do in the l45, made the world of difference in my b3030????

Hi workingallthetime

Yes I too have had a problem with the front remote "sticking" sometimes. I have the top button set to "open" for all of my accessories and the bottom one to "close". Particularly when the L45 is cold (it occasionally gets cold here in Canada) I have found that the close or lower button will stick but I have never had the upper button stick. I have found that just hitting the top button will switch the flow and release the stuckness. Interestingly I have not had the sticking all this summer so far so it will be interesting to see if it returns when we get the cooler weather in the fall.

I too have found the 4in1 much more handy than I expected. If you drop a rock on the trail it is so nice to just pick it up and go rather than either have to dismount and roll it in the bucket or for larger rocks turn the machine around and grab it with the hoe. I got mine because the dealer gave me a $1,000 credit for the standard bucket and so I decided to spend the extra $1,000 and get the 4in1 bucket. I had my hydraulically adjustable forks on my B26 so I had already had the front remotes installed on the L45 for the forks so the incremental cost for the 4in1 bucket was not a big deal.

I have quite a bit of work to do over the next three or four weeks and then I will have to take mine in for the 800 hour service. I am glad that will be done before winter hits. My dealer only stocks and installs Super UDT so mine has been running it since the initial 50 hour service at least. I can't say I noticed a difference in performance after the 50 hour service though.

Regards,

Lauren
