is there anything i should watch out for?

As some others stated, need to protect the cylinders on the 4in1. I dinged one of my cylinders several times requiring a replacement shaft after attempting to polish out the bad places. Sold my 4in1 soon after and went with a dedicated root grapple which stays on it 95% of the time since I just do not move much dirt and if I do dirt, I just use the B2710.

If your going to be working in the woods, protect the front end, I did over $2500 worth of damage running a stick thru the oil cooler and radiator. Many examples of guards on the forum if you do a search.

Having owned several bigger TLBs, this has been my favorite due to its size and power. Enjoy, it is a good working TLB.

i am just constantly smiling while using this baby, having the ability to switch from 4n1 to forks to material bucket in just seconds makes this thing so much more helpfull. i cleared some brush today, hauled some bridge timbers, ran water to some remote trees, and dug rock for landscaping.
any of you guys know if the quck attach bh buckets are a semi universal thing or just kubota buckets work? the big bucket is great but a small bucket is real handy for roots and runnig water lines.
i will look again at the protection for the 4n1, i havent had a issue with getting close to them yet, i am more worried about bending the front blade, i noticed a 1/4 inch gap on one of the stops welded inside the bucket tonight, i am not going to stress about a 1/4 inch but i will kepp it in mind.

Hi workinallthetime

I think the buckets are Kubota specific. If it helps I know in Canada that KX-121 mini excavator and the L45 use the same buckets. Unfortunately Kubota uses a Canadian supplier to the QA hoe buckets in Canada and that supplier uses a bolt and wedge to secure the bucket. The US buckets are secured just with a pin and a snap ring so no need for tools when changing which I think is better.

Has anyone had the third function hoses get pinched between the bucket and loader arm? Do not know if they were routed wrong. Would be nice if some one has a picture of the routing for the replacement hoses.
P.S. do not let John Thomas know I have a L45 from Barlows he might fall prey to tractor envy. Roughly 3K less than local.

Hi Taildragon

I found the hoses too long but I never snagged them on the bucket. I flip them over the top of the bucket to keep them out of the way when switching implements. The OE hoses are kind of flimsy I think and over time they started to kink at the T's so I had new hoses made about eight inches shorter out of heaver hose and I had the new ones wrapped in that flat plastic armoured protective stuff. I am happy to note have the hoses dragging on the ground any more and they do not deform at the T's anymore either.

Lauren

Finally found your older thread with pictures, had noticed it while researching Kubota's TLBs. Have less than 20 hours on mine. Will have shorter hoses made up, also try to cover that gap at the bucket cylinders.

I am sure I saw a photo of the additional protection you added to the L45 bumper but I can't find it now KubotaToy. Can you point me to the thread or photo?

Thanks, still in the future.
I am impressed how this TLB digs with the front bucket, much better than my MF 1652 with 72 inch bucket. Will drop the Kubota 4 in 1 bucket until hoses replaced and use the Massey bucket. Thank goodness for quick attach buckets. Have a grapple on the Massey right now with a stump grinder on the rear for woods clean up. Working on drainage with the L45.
Does Kubota recommend a minimum rpm for HST travel/usage ? Massey suggest 1800 RPM as minimum with a 2500 RPM for 540 PTO use.
