Adding Chain Brake Mac 10-10 Pro

I am looking at purchasing a McCulloch Pro 10-10 but it does not have a chain brake bar. Is this something that can be added to a chainsaw? If so, how hard is it?

People have ran saws for many years with out chain brakes. I even have a couple of old Homelite and a Echo saws that never had them. You may have to decide how important it is to you. I am unaware of any improvements available for older saws.

I doubt there would be a after market or factory retrofit due to sales volume and liability. Similar situation in vintage autos and retrofitting them with air bags. It is hard to find anyone serious enough to tackle it as a product given the relatively low volume. Just my $0.02

Yep, best to look for a newer and better saw.

A to adapt and put a brake on that saw would cost more than the saw is worth. They aint worth much. Old, heavy, and slow
