Must remove the hitch?

Yes, unless you don't mind being called inconsiderate.

Inconsiderate is secondary...Lazy is primary. Just sayin'.

This thread is hysterical...Everyone is trying to justify why their draw bar should stay in every absurd argument feasible.

I'd love to know what these people are not doing when it comes to towing.

If you think the juvenile reasons are changing my mind, you're are really, really wrong.

The drawbar comes out of my truck, the wife's H3, the quad, the RTV and the BX..No exceptions around here.

I'm done, some of you clowns have had enough fun at my expense, glad you enjoyed it ..I will not change my mind.

Lazy?

We have been told over and over we need to reduce our energy usage.

Only speaking for myself Tim, I like busting chops, like we are bellied up to a bar and ribbing each other, that's it. :drink:

I'm cool with that..Sadly some took this personally. I certainly have not as I don't really care that much.

Cheers. :drink:

Lazy? How about don't be lazy and deture more than 8" away from my truck, and look down now and then, I don't want you to trip and fall into my truck because you are too lazy to look where you are going. Heck, if the truck occupies the space first and then you walk into it... Doesn't that make you the klutz?

As for absurd reasons? The most absurd one I've heard is the person that can't walk that crawls from vehicle to vehicle to get to the store front. They've walked all the way from the outer edge of the lot if they walked by mine, I park way out partially to avoid cart hits and door swings, the lazy people do those, usually don't find the lazy parkers out on the edge, too far for them to walk! ;)

timswi.....you made it personal by calling TBN members lazy in your blanket statement......you don't know all the various reasons why we just leave it in....you don;t know how many times I pull my fishing boat to the lake, or the snowmachine trailer , or the landscape trailer, and you also assume I must be lazy and missing maintaining them too if I am type to not pull my draw bar.....thats funny because my boat trailer is from 1960's and the box trailer for ATV and snowmachine was from my Dad and he had it built in 1966 and I rebuilt in 2009 , I had all sorts of spare time to maintain my equipment to last that long because I didn;t waste my time taking my drawbar in and out every few days and other wasteful uses of time.
Not that it is anyones business, and I also live in snow and ice north where vehicles slide and hit you from behind.....it makes for a good deterent.

Ouch! I just banged my leg on an extended front bumper with a winch and brush guard..... My bad, walked around the front to avoid the dangerous draw bar hanging out the back. ;-)

just thought about it....must be why the phone company puts out a cone behind their vehicle when they park, to keep the lazy people that aren't looking where they are going from walking intot he back of their vehicle...

All the phone company trucks in my area put a cone behind and in front of their trucks. I was told that they do this so they always have to check the area around the vehicle before they leave.

They probably got sued from someone hitting their shin on a ball mount and the lawyers told them this was a good idea.

What happens now if I trip and fall over the cone? I think all cones should have a early detection system that visually and audibly alerts someone before tripping. Just another example of how natural selection doesn't apply to humans. My offspring has already adapted to maneuvering around ball mounts is just one generation. Must have a good gene pool I guess.

I think I'll have big magnetic signs made for the sides of my truck, with arrows pointing towards the bumper area. "WARNING! BIG METAL GREASE COVERED THING AHEAD!"

if they can't see the drawbar, they aren't looking.. thus won't see the sign.. that's the big issue.. they aren't paying attention... they are walking into stationary objects that occupied the space before they did.

in traffic laws when you hit a stopped vehicle you are at fault. not the stopped vehicle... that tells you something right there about who's responsibility it is when a moving object hits a stationary object.

Thus the dire need to develop an early warning device to protect the sleep walkers.

I came out of a Dollar store today and saw a parked police van with a hitch platform sticking out about 16" x 36" wide from his hitch. I didn't see anyone run into that even though there weren't any cones around it.
