i am questioning your bolt "grade" and not using a higher grade of bolt. vs the cheaper bolts you can find at local hardware stores. along with correct torquing the bolts for the rim/hub.

the limited amount of rear tractor tires i have had to deal with. i have had issues getting the rim up nice and tight against the hub. rim was snagging up in the very center. and had to use some extra lubrication (dish soap, or BP blaster or like), to get rim seated correctly. and then slowly hand tighten with a socket wrench (NO impact socket / air tool), to pull rim up to were it needed to be. as soon as it got up to were it needed to be. everything was easy, it was everything up to that point that was a pain in rear. to note it, i was cheating with a cherry picker / engine lift, on the tire. to allow me to swing it / push tire into place easier.

I had to do a similar repair on the farmer I hunt on's tractor a few years ago. He was mowing in the woods when one of the rear tires popped off and rolled down the hill leaving 4 broken bolts behind...

Yeah, these bolts are a poor fastening design.
We actually got longer bolts and stuck them thru the back of the hub, and put lock nuts on the back.
They will work loose no matter how tight you get them....

Are you referring to a wheel bolt or a regular bolt?

They are the wheel bolts, with the chamfer.

Its hard to get them tight enough.....

That's strange. I've seen them used on several different applications including tractor wheels (both front and rears) without any problems. The last time I used them was last summer bolting on a pair of wheels to a couple of implement hubs; I never noticed any problem getting them tightened.
