Yesterday my oldest daughter turned 16, had a nice afternoon/evening of a movie and dress up dinner with a little shopping and a small necklace/pendant from fuddy-duddy-dad...

Drew, what is an engineered wood floor?

real wood on top, special plywood below that is moisture resistant and does not cup or warp as solid wood will, and sure did all over half of my home.
I thought about keeping all the pine floors they are tearing out for firewood but they have been waxed heavily and some showed some mold so into the dumpster they went. Just had the chimneys cleaned and really don't want to junk them up. Much less have nails in the fireplace.

Interesting. The wood floor in the great room is 1 inch oak (Missouri Ozark grown) and has yet to cup or warp or move or squeak. Other than having the urethane redone when changing the hall from carpet to oak floor has no been touched :cool2: :drink: :thumbsup:

48F and cloudy at 01:50 ... supposed to be partly sunny today ... but only a high of 58F.

Lots of color starting to show up in the trees ... should hit peak within the next 7 to 10 days. Grass growth seems to have finally slowed up a little.

Woke up around midnight ... first cup down, gonna brew another and head up to the shop.

Got the loader bucket and brackets all ground and cleaned up ... have two more 1" holes to drill in the attachment plate for plug welds and then I can weld that on and get the bucket off the table and do the tractor-side SSQA.

Got the bird feeders loaded yesterday ... had been neglecting those ... Tweety will no doubt be happy ...

Started to go into the studio yesterday to grab some dimensions for the grapple off the computer and I opened the door and there were around 50 yellow jackets buzzing around in there ... so I closed the door and turned around and walked away ... dimension info will have to wait

Gonna have to figure out how they got in ... but not before they die, which should hopefully happen within the next day or so.

57 and raining hard. Should hit mid 60s. Lots of color in the trees and fields here, too.

Drinking second cup of coffee. 31° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 56° with sun shine all day. Fall must be officially here. First temperature below freezing this fall. Trees in yard are turning fast. Headed to my mothers house to do some fall cleanup. Then back home to do some more yard cleanup.

69 degrees going up to low eighties today as a warm front brings rain in this afternoon. Then things look like they will cool off a bit.
Might get a little planting done this morning,then hit the boxes this afternoon. Finally got the ok to put things away in the kitchen,what a relief; guess they won't have to tear out the cabinets after all. So as it rains this afternoon, I will be
running the dishwasher and putting things away. And let it rain, rain, rain; the new gutters are finally up.

thanks Billie, Right about where the new floor stops is where the old floor had heaved up at least three inches...we called it the Himalayan Hump...gone.
I got the roses planted yesterday; will be digging around in that trailer looking for something else to plant. Watered everything while it was in the trailer so it can sit there for a while. Have to wait on getting the auger put on the tractor for the big stuff; no way am I digging all those holes by hand. Wore my wrist band all last night after having too much fun yesterday...so I need to pace myself. I'm good at that, right?...

36 degrees right now...high of 59 and should be a nice day. I'm got to replace a shower cartridge today (once I figure out where to turn the water off!) and some other inside chores. I hope to mow the lawn too.
Reckon wifey will want to go shopping too.
