Taking my 2023 back to the dealer in the morning for the 50 hour service. I'm also going to have them check the diff lock that doesn't appear to be working. Hard to believe I've put 50 hours on in just a few short months.

What is your dealer going charge you for that 50 hr service. Just curious.

I didn't ask. It's more than just an engine oil change on mine. It's hydro fluid and filters too.

My dealer is charging me $400 for 50 hour service on my 2023.. plus applicable taxes- It's a major service- all filters and all fluids changed- plus general tightening etc.

Geez! Maybe I should have asked. That's ridiculously high in my opinion.

Well it's looking like no good for my differential issue. The dealer called yesterday and said LS wanted to know exactly what I was doing when I first noticed the diff wasn't working. The dealer said the whole rear end would have to be pulled and photos taken and sent to LS to see if this will be covered under warranty.

I'm really hoping I don't get screwed on this deal. The dealer said they noticed I had the tires filed with fluid and that this might have caused the problem with the diff. I got the impression that this was going to get blamed on something I did as opposed to a defect. I told them I had to fill the tires just to get traction on dry ground and so I wasn't driving in 4wd nonstop. The dealer said driving in 4wd nonstop would not hurt the tractor or cause premature wear and that's what I should do from now on.

Look in your owners manual and see if the manual states to install liquid ballast to off set the weight in the loader. I assume that you have a loader, then they can't blame it on you because you did what the manual said.

Look at the website under specifications it states weight without ballast! I really don't think there should be any problem here with the ballasted tires.

My 2023 has filled rear tires as per dealer recommendation- I think LS or your dealer is giving you the run around- Ballast on a tractor with loader is industry standard as Guesseral has said above. BTW My tractor is in right now for service and one of my issues is the rear diff. doesn't seem to be working-- we'll see what my guys say. Good Luck

Can you PM me with info on what dealer has your tractor? My dealer said that LS told them my tractor is the first they've heard of a having a rear diff problem. If I had the info, I can give it to my dealer and tell them mine is certainly not the only one with the problem.

You know, I don't know if the manual says anything about fluid in the tires but I'll check. I know there are a lot of members here that have filled their LS tractor tires so I'm definitely not the only one.

PM'ed you- Not certain my 2023 has a diff issue- just asked dealer to check it out-

In the owner's manual, does LS recommend a Ballast Box instead of filled rear tires?

I haven't looked at the manual but the label on my loader shows a warning about it.

It clearly states in the loader manual to Add rear tire liquid weight for Counterweight.

That's good to know. I haven't had time to get my manuals out yet. I haven't heard from the dealer yet either.

Forgot to update my thread, but the dealer did the 50 hour service, but only changed the 2 hydro filters and refilled with hydro oil. $140

My manual says to only change the engine oil filter at 50 hours, but NOT the actual oil. Anyone know the oil filters for the J2023?

My 50 hour service may have been overkill but was recommended by dealer to minimize LS Factory warranty problems down the road- He seemed to imply that he and I would have greater leverage re warranty work if all fluids and filters were completely changed at 50 hours- He continued to say that he and LS did not foresee any need to change all fluids for a long long long time based on my residential use and factory requirements. considering the extra labor and Hydro fluid required I don't consider $390 high.
