I don't ever recall seeing ours bloom other than in the spring/early summer ...

I think blooming time is over until next year.

Bird feeder plenty busy at our house as well. House wrens, chickadees. Yellow finches, downy woodpeckers,titmouse too with Red Birds thrown in to boot

Sounds like quite the show ...

We've had some action over the last day or so but less than it has been ...

this is for Larro, our resident historian and writer.

The Eastern end of Washington, well NE, where I am, is inhabited densely by two families,
the Woolards and the Alligoods. And I'm told when they marry they become a Wooligood...
Now I know your story is on the other end of town, but I bet these folk were around then...

At the pharmacy, they have two huge bins in the W section labeled Woolard. I need to write the other two family names down for you.

A quick Google search found Henry Tillman Woolard, a sailor born 1780 in Pa, came south and married Nellie Langley of Beaufort County NC. Couldn't find a clear cut date on the Alligood family, but they were firmly established by 1840. Also found your above post on page 8 of the search results

In 1718, there were not many folks outside of Beaufort, New Bern, Queen Anne's Creek and Bath Towne. The Tuscarora Wars hadn't been over long enough for the abandoned plantations to be claimed. That was one of the reasons I picked that area to write about.

Only saw 3 hummingbirds the whole time I was outside this morning. I guess we've sent most of the rest down your way, Larro. Feed them well.

We have a long screen porch with four humming bird feeders at the Civic Center. And since my boss is a smoker, we sit out there for our 'staff meetings'. This morning while we were sitting there I saw what looked like the same humming bird coming back to drink every few minutes. Often they do so much fighting, they rarely get a drink.

Good Afternoon. 1315, sunny, 95F {110 heat index} with 56% humidity. Forecast high of 91F {?} with 40% chance of thundershowers this afternoon, and a low of 71F tonight.

I got a call at 0830, causing me to rush to work without getting in my workout or breakfast. A customer who was undecided about the setup/cleanup the last time I talked to her had decided she wanted it. Then when I got here she was unsure of how she wanted it set up. So I waited at least an hour before another lady got here to make up my mind. Then she said to just put the tables out and they would arrange them. Oh well, I got to log a few extra hours. And I did eat breakfast. About lunchtime....
