Go price its replacement the L6060 with exposed hoses and tier IV engine to see why the price is still so good on a used tractor.

I think I will try a little work on the price but it sure is a very clean looking machine. Just wondering if it would be better to pony up and get a new one under warranty.

Sounds like a heck of a deal. The values of the 40s have dropped since the 60s came out. My 2011 L5740 HSTC-3 purchased in March, 2011, listed for $46,030 with loader and remotes, was discounted to $39,900. The L3710 I traded in had dropped 30% off original purchase price in 10 years of rugged use. This tractor looks like it was only used on Sundays by a little old lady to level her driveway, a very good deal if you are looking for an open platform.

I traded a 2009 L5740 HST (no cab) that I had bought about 1 year ago with 475 hours on it. I bought it for $20,500. And I got $20,000 on the trade, but I had put about $2500 of improvements on it.

You are getting a tractor that is 1 year older, but with roughly 150 hours less than what I bought, so those 2 things cancel each other out. You are getting a tractor without a cab for $4000 less than what I paid for mine with a cab. So, I think that's about even. How many remotes does yours have? Mine has one and they are about $800 each.

You are correct, I paid $12,000 for a tractor that is 2 years newer and with about 450 fewer hours. (Trade in had about 750 when traded). And the new tractor is in a lot better shape than the old one. For me, it was well worth the $12,000. I put more hours on my tractor this summer than ever before, and with the brutal heat and dusty conditions I work in, I'm very happy with my cab, and what I paid for it.

Made a deal on the L5740. Got it for $25,000 with boxblade and pallet forks. Guy is even delivering it tonight. Gonna be a good one!
