My 45 has an obviously burnt Thyristor on the main board. I spent weeks dealing with your warranty guys and they were blunt. No can help.. It was about 60 days out of warranty when it blew while cutting 1/8" diamond plate at 40 amps with 65# of air. A 1/2 price board would have been a nice jesture ( still would ) especially since nearly all other brands have better warranty than Hypertherm. It's too late now.. That was several months back. I doubt if You could do anything to help anyway.. Why would you even ask?

He's asking because he doesn't want the bad publicity of an unhappy owner posting his experience online. Let him fix it for you, LOL.

Not at all correct. We leave everything open, even on the corporate Facebook and online forums. There are always some end users with bad experiences....if you post about a Hypertherm it remains open for the world to see. It is likely that we cannot do anything to help yomax's situation, however I offered to take another look. No response yet....maybe he no longer has the unit..

It was a year ago. The unit is sitting on the shelf. Probably sell the torch off it and JUNK the rest.

Jim's offer sounds reasonable to me ...

When an olive branch is offered, I would accept it.

OK...your choice. I know a few people that would be interested in buying the whole system, as these are well worth the repair price. If you change your mind feel free to contact me.

This thing is in New Condition. I would like to know what it's worth.. That would speak volumes on here..

A Powermax600, which is a 40 amp air plasma, shielded torch technology, is (in excellent appearing and operating condition) worth between $1000 and $1400. I keep track of prices by watching some Craiglist listings....one just sold on NH Craigslist for $1250.....and from the photo it was pretty beat up. I have seen them advertised as low as $600.......and at that price they sell instantly.

For all the non-advertising you are doing, it sure seems like advertising.

Why don't you contact the owners of TBN and discuss it?

Not quite sure what you are alluding to here...can you explain?

I think it's very refreshing that someone, anyone besides everlast and their shills, can add to the discussion here! Someone who is not pushing Chinese junk down the gullets of the unsuspecting ... and unaware ..

Actually I have been posting some information that is valuable to anyone buying any brand of plasma cutter. Also I have answered some specific questions asked by other posters. I see no advertising....but if it was pointed out, I'd be happy to change some wording!

I think anybody who has been around the welding industry for more than a week has heard of Hypertherm.
Personally I wouldn't own one! ;):D

The nice thing about having many brands available....you can buy the one you want!

I've had my 1250 for about 11 or 12-years. Only problem I've had is the loose nut behind the torch, (me)!
I just love the way it scarfs welds out.:cool2:

Blackntan. We've got literally hundreds of Everlast owners on this site. If they were unsuspecting as you say, and it was junk, you'd hear a lot of complaints now wouldn't we? In fact there will be problems with anything from time to time and sooner or later you will have a dissatisfied customer...but you are lying arrogantly to yourself...and probably demeaning a lot of people in the process by labeling them pretty much as unsuspecting and unaware. No one is pushing anything down anyone's gullet.

Au Contraire..

On other weld forums, anything derogatory to everlast is promptly deleted, and/or subsequently locked. Posters with issues are even advised not to post their problems any longer, because they WILL be deleted. everlast pays to control this forum, and you do it rather effectively. I have less problem with everlast being an inferior Chinese product, that the manner in which these "bought and paid for" forums are administrated.
Just notice how a competitor, and one that offers a quality piece of equipment, are treated.

So, how are complaints handled?? Do you mean to say that of all the low quality equipment sold here there are no problems??

While it's true I was born at night .... It wasn't LAST night.

Look no further than the recent Everlast and fake CSA certs incident and how it was handled.

Why do you care? Do you have a vested interest in this site financially? More important, are only advertisers allowed to share information on here? Only those that pay can discuss products, practices, and techniques? If so, then I'd be quite worried about gleaning information from this site.

You mean the thread that was closed because people wouldn't stop with the personal attacks and insults? Feel free to start a new one if you want.
