My 4610 SU currently has one set of remotes and a selector valve that allows me to either use the remotes or the 3 point hitch. I plan on hooking up a joystick that would allow me to operate two sets of double acting cylinders.

Of course, one option would be to take the two lines coming out of my selector valve and hook them to the joystick control valve. I'm looking to get away from using the selector valve because it is not very convenient always having to flip the selector when using the remotes and the 3 point hitch at the same time. What are my options?

For example, on my 860 I have a power beyond line running out of my joystick control valve that makes the 3 point work without flipping a selector valve.

You could use something like this Ford 3000 Hydraulic Adapter Kit (HV4902) and a control valve with power beyond. If you want a joystick type valve, you could use something like this 2 SPOOL COMPACT 10 GPM JOYSTICK CONTROL VALVE . Be sure to check the valve you use to make sure it has power beyond or it is available for it.

Remove the selector valve and mount the adapter plate between the selector valve and the lift housing. Go from the outlet port on this new adapter to the inlet on your control valve. From the power beyond on the control valve, go in the return port of the adapter block. Take the return line from the control valve to sump/reservoir. Hook up your cylinders and you are ready to go.

Oh...and your selector valve will still work just like it does now.

Thanks for the reply. With the setup you described, will the joystick work independently from the selector. In other words, will I be able to use the joy stick and / or the 3 point without having to switch the selector valve?

Yes. The joystick and 3 point will work just by moving the lever for that function. You wouldn't need to move the selector valve.

Great. I'll have to order some 0-rings and get started.

Thank you!
