Well It was delivered Friday evening.
I would like to thank everyone for your help. I never spent this much time researching the new cars ,trucks we have but tractors are different.

As I spent a couple hours yesterday playing (like a big kid) with it. Last evening I noticed when reading that the MMM is to be run at full throttle. Is this correct?
I ran the 1020 at 1500 RPM and in high range with the hydro cruise at 3/4 to almost full and it cut just great.

Running such a high rpm would be hard on bearings, joints, fuel I would think. As long as it is not loading up why so much RPM.

What do you guys run for the MMM rpm ,range and speed? My area is open and flat for the most of it.

When mowing, I usually start out a little less than full throttle but soon bump it up all the way. No particular reason.

I mow in mid range and go fairly slow for my own comfort.

I added a couple of leds for snow work. One forward one rearword on top of the rops. I might add a couple more next winter. The standard alternator is fine with leds.

Enjoy. Post pics.

For the leds I made a light bar and clamped it to the top of the rops between to small plates with 1/4 " bolts .

When mowing run the tractor at PTO speed (designated on your TACH). This is best for your tractor's engine and quality of cut with the MMM. These machines are good on fuel and made to be run at PTO speed for 1000's of hours.

I had a Kubota mechanic say he would run it full throttle for mowing with MMM. I am a little hesitant to do it for some reason though but I usually start at the PTO speed and then increase to full throttle. The blades spin faster and you can mow quicker at full throttle.

Well full throttle it is. It will be hard to push myself to run it that hard for such light work. Another case of operator error.

As far as engine speed, I run mine at orange mark on the tach when I'm working it. My theory is that is where the engine was designed for optimum PTO HP, torque, optimum engine cooling, hydraulic flow, 540 or 2500 rpm (which is where the implements were desgined to run in theory) ect. My understanding is these "new" (lol) higher speed diesels like rpms and lugging is bad. The fuel usage between 2200 rpm and 2700 rpm has to be so trivial its not even funny.

If I'm just driving with little or no load, just a little over 2k rpms seem to be really smooth/sweet spot for the engine.

Remember, given the same load, lower RPM means more torque. High(er) torque on smaller shaft splines, and lugging/unnecessary vibrations on bearings is no good.

So what do you think Al Mac, how do you like your new machine?

I really like the unit and with only 3 hours on it the bond is only young. I will say that I am more impressed than the wife LOL. That really would not count though.
I never cut the 8 acres of grass with it as the 1020 just did it before the new b2920 arrived. The rpm is something I will get adjusted to and expect that regular service is the key to these units for keeping them in top working order.

I did get a work light installed (dealer) and a little disappointed as it is not LED so I am looking into the past posts on what to use for extra lighting (I like lots of light) without alternator problems. Any good ideas for size and load (wattage).

I never had a FEL so that is fun to play with and am ordering a load of pee gravel for a project. I will see what she ( not to be sexest but all my working rigs are referred to as female) can do with it.

I do like the great input with this forum as I never was on one before. It answers many questions about these units.

I have been thinking about this kit:
ROPS Lights | Tractor LED Worklight Kits

At 4.5 amp draw for a dual light kit, the 14 amp dynamo should pull it with the headlights on without the flashers. I believe there is a headlight led conversion also.

Proper maintenance is important for any mechanical device. :)

My 2920 is just over a year old and was purchased as a replacement for my B7510. I have a FEL and mow my lawn with a 60 inch bush hog finish mower. I have industrial tires and chose not to load them given that I used my tractor to mow my lawn. However I have a 700lb ballast box that does the job just fine when I have FEL work. I also mow with the tach at the desired PTO speed the tractor will cut through anything without lugging. Other than the whine of the HST which seems a bit louder than my 7510 , I am very pleased with my B2920!
