Gotta tell you, I don't think that's an Allis. Oh, I know it has the Allis-Chalmers name on it, but I'd swear that tractor was Japanese. It might be a Hinomoto, but I'm not certain. Back then, same as today, America just doesn't build anything compact. Tractors, excavators, etc all come from Japan. Japan has perfected the compact equipment market. However, they don't build anything large, so our full size tractors get exported to Japan. Although the parts can be hard to find, the Japanese tractor is an excellent machine.

The 5015 is a Hinomoto, it has a Toyosha engine in it. Hinomoto no longer makes tractors so parts for these older Allis's are hard to find and pricy. A brake job on one cost a friend of my over $1000 in just parts (I do not remember the model). They are a good machine, just expensive to repair. Fortunately JB's seems to be in great shape.

Thanks, took it out for a ride around our new place today and found some wild blackberry bushes that I'm going to relocate to the future garden site... does anyone know of what size PTO rotary tiller and maybe bush hog my little AC can handle?

Small. The smallest you can find. I ran a 52" finish mower on my little 11hp Yanmar and it was more than it could handle. Really had to stay on top of the grass or I'd going very slow. I'd try to find a 48" rotary mower. Be sure to get an over running clutch too.

Thanks for the advice Cord, and I did some reading up on that over-running clutch contraption..looks like a good investment, probably get the spring pin model and not the roll pin one... I wish I knew of someone nearby that had some smaller implements I could bring my tractor over and see what will and won't work before just buying something I may or may not be able to use..

Also, I have been doing some research on rotary tillers and it looks like the Land Pride RTR05 may be a good choice as it's advertised as being specifically for sub-compact tractors..I'm thinking the 42" model may be just what I've been looking for and luckily there are 2 Land Pride dealers within 15 miles of my place..

I have the next size up (AC5020) and I have run a 6' brush hog on mine however a 5' would be more suitable as it pretty much plays with a 4'. The biggest issue I find with mine is the front end gets light,, the 6' mower needed 4 75lb suitcase weights on the front and the cutter was a light duty model. I have also had a 4' tiller on mine and again no issues running it at all.

Try really hard to find a reverse cut model. My Yanmar came with a Japanse tiller (really, really good tillers) but it was a forward cut. When breaking hardpan I'd have to be really careful. Otherwise the tiller will start to walk forward. It would pick the back of the tractor up, lift the tires off the ground and start propelling the whole thing forward. Really exciting because the front axle doesn't provide much stability and objects in front of you start getting big pretty quick!
