Was there a front linkage made for the 855?

I am hoping to install one to mount a transport box on the front of my tractor.

Thanks in advance.

OK. Following extensive web searches, I finally found a reference to a JD model BM16492 for the 55 series. Surprised I got no responses here.. :-(

I don't believe that's a 3pt but instead a mount for attaching a snow blade, snow blower or sweeper.

You may well be right. It's the only item I could find that offered a front of tractor mounting for attachments, and got no other suggestions.

The photos I found on the 'net certainly seemed to have a 3-point attachment facility.

Sureley european companies like opico or zuidberg will make them to order for any tractor . There seem to be lots for sale for all other brands of this size except deere ?

I should think the best "transport box" for your tractor would be a loader. I've referred to mine as a diesel powered wheelbarrow on occasion.

That's certainly a possibility if I can find a used one. I'm afraid I wouldnt have the budget for the price of the new one.

Agreed. However, there are other implements I would like to mount up front also.

The original Deere front mount has the front pto shaft attached to it also, this will be a problem for you if your "other" implements require it. The current Deere's front attachment kit is more along the lines of a 3 point setup.

Also, with the "old" style mount, it has to be removed for the mid-mount mower.

Hi Ed

Would you happen to know what part numbers you are referring to? I'd like to Google the alternatives. Thanks. Tom

Tom, I'll dig up the manual for my front mount kit, it'll have the part number on it.

Here you are: BM16492 is the front attachment kit, BM16494 is the front pto mount kit.

I took a few pics of it for you....hope it helps.

Thanks for the pics Ed. Yeah, that's the part number I have been looking at. As Mechanos points out it is more of a quick attach than a 3 point linkage per se. I'm looking around to see what others may have done to cater for a top linkage, as I assume at this stage the bottom points would be catered for by the QA mechanism.

Thanks again- Much appreciated. Not easy here in Ireland to get info on these great machines..
