Still running pushrod V8's. Remember, Nissan is putting a Cummins 5.0L in the Titan as is Toyota in their Tundra.

With no more replies than this thread got it does not look like many people are excited about a diesel F-150.

Where is G.M.?

Waiting for Ford to make a move so they know what to do.

I posted about the diesel F-150 in the other thread that Daugen started and there was quite a bit of response.

It's hard to get excited about a 3.0L diesel option. Without knowing the details I'll wait and see but after seeing what the Dodge does with it's 3.0 I'm not interested. I read a review of a loaded 4x4 Laramie that had a tow rating of 7300 lbs. I would max that out with my tractor, trailer, and an attachment. If I'm going to put an extra $3k+ down for a diesel option I'm going to get a large enough motor so it will be equal other 1/2 tons on the market (10k).

Had I known that I wouldn't have started this one. Most of what I read in the beginning of the other thread had to do with the aluminum body. Once a thread gets a ridiculous amount of pages I lose interest in it.

I haven't seen too many details yet but I'm glad to see they are doing it and that they are also using a smaller displacement engine to get better mileage. I think these new small diesels will be a hit but time will tell.

That website (TTAC) is known for reporting incorrect data just to get hits to the site. Take everything you read on that site with a HUGE grain of salt.

From just that article alone:

The 'Lion' diesel is an old(ish) diesel and not something that is in the works. IF the diesel were to get a diesel, it would be the 3.2L I5 that is going into the Ford Transit van later this year. It is already ready for emissions in the US and is in production.
It is not yet determined if the next gen Super Duty will be steel or aluminium. That decision is on hold to see the results of the F150 launch.
The F150 IS getting a 10 speed tranny, though. Probably the '16 or '17 model year.

I skimmed through that thread too but missed it too.
