They are targets for local police drones. Intensive training is a must and open fields provide safe targeting areas. In the future the drones will be using the pallets for pylon race practice these, however, will be piled higher.

Yeah, but every one is just waiting around to find out what the danged pallets were set up in the field for. Meanwhile, what we don't know we just make up.. Kinda like politicians. :laughing:

I have developed and expounded upon (at length, no less) three viable and as yet un-refuted pallet theories.
1) The Hunting Theory: Temporary deer and/or turkey hunting blinds.
2) The Alien Cargo Cult Theory: Cargo requires pallets.
3) The Paladin Theory: A precursor to an Alien Invasion thwarted by the mis-communication to Bob of a reference to the Latin "palatine, plural palatini" fashioned after the TV character "Paladin," whom the Aliens became aware of somewhere in the time frame of 4 to 20 light years following the broadcast period (1957-63) of Have Gun Will Travel.
Spectating slackers abound in this thread!
I may develop a unified fourth theory.

This explanation seems plausible at first glance, but unfortunately does not stand up when subjected to scientific scrutiny.
By definition, the international caret farm symbol has but two "sides." The photographic evidence from the OP shows that the pallets are earthbound and thus form triangles. Your conjecture would be supported if the pallets were suspended in mid-air.
However, investigation of the geometry of the formations may be useful. Are they isosceles? Equilateral?

In this configuration, they are ready to be deployed. They will be doused with diesel fuel when the time comes and lit on fire at night to mark the landing zone.
