Is about all I can say.

The dealer had left the keys to the M7060 12 speed unit in the tool box and told me to lock it up after I test drove it on Thanksgiving eve which I did. When I test drove the 12 speed on the lot and there was also an 8 speed locked up that I peeked at through the window. I told the dealer I wanted the tractor I test drove.

Today the dealer delivered my new ZD331 72" 31 HP diesel ZTR & M7060 HST to my property today. Unload and demo the ZTR all is perfect! Unload the tractor and watch/listen to the demo of the buttons etc. Dealer is in the seat and I ask can you shift the tractor from 1st to 2nd without clutching? No you have to clutch before shifting, he reaches over to the shifter and I look and it's a 8 speed unit.

I was so freaking mad, told him to load the _______ _______ on the trailer and got in my truck and left. After I cooled off (a lil bit) I called him again he said he didn't pay attention to the tractor he left the keys in on the lot and the tractor I test drove was a sold unit  I explained that if I test drive a new car with a DVR and rear air, get a price on it, agree to buy it, do the paper work while they wash it and they bring it around front and the car doesn't have a dvr and rear AC I'm not buying it.

After a lengthy conversation I told him to make a few calls to find me a 12 speed unit which he did. They will go pick it up tomorrow and swap the added accessories from the 8 speed to the 12 speed and then deliver to me when complete :mur:

Uh, you still have to clutch the 12 speed unless you speed shift or knock the hydro reverser in to neutral.

if i upshift or down shift i put my hydro shuttle in the N position an then shift into the gear i want.an i dont touch the clutch less im running to high of rpms to stop.

It was nice that the dealer left you the keys so you could demo it but he really should have been there. It would have eliminated confusion (on their part). For that kind of money there really isn't an excuse for not having someone there.

I think they tried a bait and switch and got caught.

I understand the shifting, it was just a question I asked

Gotcha.
They may not have intentionally baited but it sure does sound like they tried to pull a switch on you. Not sure how I'd feel about future purchases from this dealer.

Yep, I have purchased an Exmark ZTR, L3540, implements, parts, and now these 2 machines and this happens. It's clearly on them but may not be in their favor going forward. It would be nice to learn is was a big mistake on their part and it wasn't intentional.

He told me the 12 speed is a $2000 adder and they will pick up the 12 speed unit, return to their shop, pull the accessories I wanted off the 8 speed, install on the 12 speed and the additional cost to me is just a hair over $1000. So they are taking a hit for their error intentional or not.

And some who have posted about tractors being delivered with high hours on the hour meter ask the question, "How did that number of hours get on a new machine"?

Maybe the dealer was using it for a "DEMO" unit after it was sold like in this instance. I wonder if the actual purchaser of the M7060 knows his new tractor was being used over the holiday as a demo unit.

Well, they got their $1000. The Kubota website "Build Your Tractor" may have the actual price difference for the 8 vs. 12 speed. (I just did it. The difference is just over $2000.)

Did your Bill of Sale have any information on it that might be to your advantage? Like model number, serial number, features, etc.?

I wouldn't be happy if I found that out. When I demoed the tractor I didn't abuse it and only ran it about 20-30 minutes. It was delivered to someone else though because it's not there anymore.

The quote and bill of sale state M7060, 71 HP engine, 4 WD, AC Cab etc, nothing about the tranny. I guess he can complain it was me since the 12 speed is an option and the quote doesn't call it out as an option. BUT it was presented as a 12 speed and I requested "that tractor". I'm paying the added price and as explained to him yesterday "it's not about the money and I am not trying to beat you out of a dollar it's about getting what I want"

It would make you think twice about leaving your tractor there to get worked on.
That dealer obviously has no regard for SOMEONE ELSE'S property.

Seems to be anything goes as long as nobody is looking.

I agree, in all likeliood just miscommunication. When I buy a tractor, I spec it out and give a copy to the dealer so there is no confusion.

Sounds like nothing more than miss communication...

Yea, he probably didn't inhale:laughing:
Seriously though, are you guys forgetting that he left the keys to someone else's tractor for the OP to demo?

Who, or where is the dealer? I'm in Louisiana too, and I want to be careful if it's one near me.

I call BS on the dealer. He certainly knew what he had just sold.
And the fact that he left you the keys to someone else's tractor pretty much defiles his character in my eyes.
At least your going to get what you want, to bad it went down like it did.
Enjoy your new tractor when you get it:thumbsup:

Chit happens. I doubt the dealer was trying to pull anything.

Dealer called this morning and told me he decided to leave all the accessories on the 8 speed and had ordered all new accessories for the 12 speed and they should have arrived today. I'm going to pay a visit tomorrow morning.
