I do worry a bit about our new Indian neighbors across the way, but I have given them so many buckets of tomatoes and hot peppers that I know they think kindly of me. Just don't want to wave a red flag in front of any bull, not the spirit of Christmas for me. The Patels are nice, gentle people with a delightful young daughter so not honestly concerned.
I wonder what a Hindu lawn ornament is like?...A giant Buddha riding an elephant, with 2000 LED lights? In July?
And before anyone gets offended, my neighbors may be Christians for all I know. But for those of us who live in culturally mixed areas, it's something we all need to be sensitive to.

Drew, we are lucky to have two Doctors in Blountstown from the Subcontinent. One of them used to be my doctor. {I had to change due to my coverage plan} But he is Margie's Doctor, and her mother and brother were his patients before they passed. He would often call us at home about them. Something you never see in homegrown Doctors. His family lived in Bangladesh, India and Pakistan, each time having to move because of religious violence. Although he is Muslim, every time he mentions Jesus, he says the Blessed Prophet, Jesus. I have worked many of the Muslim weddings at the Civic Center, and they have always been some of the best customers. Although the men do all the wedding planning, so I get a lot of calls, starting off with, "Tim, I need......." I think most folks from that part of the world are glad not to be dodging bombs, and are getting on with their lives. It is the few bad apples that get all the press.

Good Morning. 1100, clear, 65* with 61% humidity. Forecast high of 70*. Looks like we are in the 70's all week with a small chance of rain. That's fine by me. I'm not ready for winter.
Hope everyone has a good day.

My neighbors are few and vary from old retired folk to young rednecks, none of whom would object to Christmas decorations.
Mostly -gas, I can hit a duck hook from the first hole on, no warms needed! :D

Yeah...I think I'm going to regret not getting more wood in this year.

Cut some ash. It burns great when "green" and has less moister fresh cut than some hardwoods do dry. Ask around.
Also, bring a batch of wetter wood inside and let it bake next to the woodstove for couple days. It dries it out great.

When we lived in Ga, plenty of trees in the neighborhood. Neighbors would be out for days raking. I would run over them with the mower telling the neighbors "God put them here, He must want them here, if He wants them moved, He will do so." Guess it didn't make me very popular, but after a few years I stopped being asked about raking leaves. David Sent from my iPad using TractorByNet
David I say the same thing about snow only plow when I cannot move car now have a jeep so not sure if i will don't then. My son comes and does it when he does his drive and he only does it when he expects company

Drew, we use the Stevia to cook with. But it is very sweet. You have to use caution. And if you are really counting sugar carbs, take a look at your half and half. Milk has more sugar in it than OJ. I put a little milk in my coffee, and that is all the sugar I need. Since I have been trying to lose weight, I am using much less milk. {which means I am drinking much less coffee} Larro

You might want to check out the sugar content comparison between milk and OJ. The milk I'm using (98.5% fat free) claims only 4.3g of sugar per 100ml. Sorry don't have any OJ to check the label but OJ is one of the recommendations to give to a diabetic having a hypo.

This is a very good talk about the demons of sugar and it's relationship to obesity. It runs an hour-n-a-half and gets into medical detail towards the end but still understandable to someone who doesn't know what an aspirin is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBnniua6-oM

It would be interesting seeing a similar detailed lecture combining the effects of Carbohydrates and Sugar

I keep a pretty good stack of wood in the garage...and load up the Gator's bed a couple days in advance to replenish the wood stack.
I got a reasonably good price on the cord I bought and I doubt I can get as good a price now...my mistake for not getting more. I didn't realize we'd be burning as much as we have been. However, the stove we got with the house is designed to heat 1600 sq feet. Our place is almost twice that. Even discounting the garage (which isn't heated), I'm estimating we're still heating 2400-2500 sq feet.
I will ask about ash, though...see what's available.
