Wife is away for a few days left Saturday, so I have a few extra things to do around the house along with my normal chores. When I took out the dogs this morning, driveway and steps covered with black ice good thing I saw the dogs slide or I may have landed on my head. Then I went to the grocery store to pick up school supplies before my son and daughter went back to school, and I could make them a nice supper before they left. After leaving the store and making another stop I reached for my cell phone only to find it fell out of the holder. Back to the grocery store parking lot wile crawling along the parking lot I found the phone under a car. Could I be that lucky? No someone ran it over! Fortunately the rest of the day went well. Every one has left me but the dogs and I'm enjoying the quiet and the wood stove that I lit for the first time this year. Hope you all have a good night. Randy take care of your self I know you want to be productive but listen to what your body is telling you,don't push your self.

All is right in Texas.
December 1st and Whipper was throwing around a copperhead snake that forgot to hibernate. It was one of those small ones with a green tail.
I was walking all over the place till sunset did not hear (It was quiet almost too quiet) or see any sign of 7Pac. . . as soon as I get into the yard the coyotes start singing, close and loud in the woods to the North, West and East . . . were they watching me the entire time? Na, Whipper would have alerted me, right? Come to thing of it, I have seen Whipper just walk over snakes before without noticing them. I really need to start looking behind more.

I did notice fresh wild hog damage, maybe the coyotes are following the pigs.

29* with light snow. Roads are slippery, got called out for traffic control at a minor accident around 6:30pm. Tree-1, F150-0. Not a lot of damage and no injury thankfully.

TXDon, Coyotes are probably smart enough to know that you run slower than a wild pig. For Whipper, he has a sight hound pedigree. Sniffing out coyotes at a distance may not be his strong point.

Weather is about to turn nasty for a large section of northern Texas Oklahoma Tennessee Virginia North Carolina South Carolina West Virginia . Very large arctic out break with overrunning precipation of the frozen variety. This will start in Texas Thursday and be in Virginia by late weekend. If the models are correct we have not seen anything like this since the 80s. Hope I am wrong but if not please be aware of this upcoming situation. Made it back from our trip safe and sound son made it back to his destination about the same time.

Good Monday morning all. Almost three weeks to Christmas...no decorations up, got to get moving. The weather is warming this week and apparently the nasty stuff is staying south of us, visiting Buppies and neighbors.
I need the nice weather, huge list of things to do, including this morning driving to the local Assoc for the Blind store near my home, where they have a nice thrift shop that several of my neighbors go to. Always looking for that bargain blouse, or something... Well I'm going to show up with twenty huge bags of clothes, maybe I should call them first. At least make sure they've got something to help me unload. And then I hope to find my missing car key somewhere in that vehicle. Maybe...

My farm landlord told me the builder's excavator broke and could I level the gravel near the garage doors so we could all get our stuff in there, including my nice almost new Kubota. Oh boy will I. It will be really nice to get the Kubota back inside, never expected it outside this long. Yeah, that paint sure seems to fade on the loader arms, even after one summer. Wonder if some cleaner wax will bring that back.

I think I'll have another guy's wood splitting day this weekend, if the weather holds. I'm seeing the hand surgeon tomorrow and right after the holidays will get my right wrist done. So might as well have some fun before getting all wrapped up. Living alone with my right arm in a cast for two weeks. This should be interesting...
Good thing I invested in a quality back scratcher!

Perhaps a recently out of work Christmas elf will show up. with my luck it will be a he and 90 years old....
last part of my 100,000 mile rebuild, can't wait to get it done.

33 outside this morning high of 54 later today. Lots of work stuff to do today to get ready for jobs to work on tomorrow. Several pieces in shop for repairs last week should be ready for pickup later today. Should be milder week to work outside then bottom falls out. Good morning

Hmmmm. I should have clicked on the ten day button. Four days of snow predicted. Oh well, better get some more firewood brought home. I guess that weather pattern really is going to make it here. A snow before Christmas is always wonderful, at least to every child under the age of 100... :dance1:

Coffee second cup has been poured. 47° with rain this morning. Heading to 66 with clouds and rain all day. Made it to Talladega, Alabama yesterday. Good day to travel. Today will be a wet day. But traveling should be OK. My internal body clock is all screwed up. Passed into Central Time Zone yesterday. :confused2:
Buppies, not the kind of weather report I want to hear. If it get's that cold around txdon's place. I may have to continue on down to the Valley a little sooner than planned.
