I know the McCormicks are red Kioits. My question is would there be an advantage to one over the other? The dealer carries both and the price is the same. Red looks better to me though. I know there are more Kioti dealers around and I was wondering if McCormick is going to stay around this time. Any thoughts?

The Deere's Ive looked at I wasn't impressed with. I admit I only looked at the 3005 and 3038

More accurately, the McCormicks are the Red Daedongs; Kioti would be the orange Daedong ;)

Since the tractors are the same, what you'll need to compare then are the front end loaders (they're different), added options, warranty, price, and dealerships.

I think the red looks better too. There's a dollar amount that I personally would pay to have the red over the orange (if everything else was the same), but that might just be me.

Keep in mind, Kioti will stay Kioti ... But McCormick might change again. They used to be built by LS, so you can never really know for sure what'll happen down the road.

My thoughts exactly on McCormicks. I didnt think about the loaders being different either. I have also been trying to get some seat time in a LS 4047 HST. The closest dealer doesnt have a HST. Wanted to see the layout as well as how much whine there is. TSO you happy with yours?

Very happy with mine. My shopping came down to a Kioti DK40/45/50 vs the LS R4041/47. I had a smaller Kioti before (ck20). It was a good tractor. Had a couple issues that were fixed under warranty.

There were things that I liked about both of the tractors. The Kioti loader lifts 123 pounds more to full height, but the LS loader has more low-end grunt ... breakout force is 627 pounds more on the LS. There have been a few times where the extra height would have been nice (Kioti loader lifts 11" higher) but I use the extra breakout force every time. But, I don't know the specs of the McCormick loader, it might be better than the other two, I don't have the specs in front of me.

The Kioti operators area was a bit more spacious. Some of the controls of each tractor were in better or worse spots than the other (just personal preference). I obviously went with the LS, but it could have easily gone the other way. I'm very happy with mine though ... no problems yet, although it's only been about 130 hours. There doesn't seem to be many (hard to find them) problems with the LS tractors. You can try to check the other forums (New Holland Boomer 35/40/50 and Case Farmall 35b/40b/50b are the same tractor) but there just haven't been many problems reported.

Go sit on them and drive them both. That's what helped me make my decision. As for HST whine, I didn't notice if one was better or worse, but I was used to HST whine from my CK20 so maybe I just didn't pay attention. Now that I think about it, I don't really notice HST whine in this LS unless I'm in High gear. But, I'm almost never in H, so it's never present.

Good luck! There's other good tractors worth comparing too. Check out the Kubota L4240/4740, their MX4700/5100, and the Mahindra 4035.

If I ever buy another tractor. There's 1 thing for sure. It won't be a contract built tractor. When the contract ends with 1 builder will parts still be available ? Why buy a McCormick or any contract tractor when, you can buy a tractor from the people that build the contract tractors ?

+1 Exactly- just take a look at what happened recently to the Bobcat line of Daedong tractors. Bobcat stopped selling them. Kioti is the tractor in the group you're interested in, Daedong built tractors. Daedong will continue to make and sell them here in the U.S.

Generally agree with this but also I don't see the big deal. You have to figure that the "parent" tractor will have parts available, and if you know what the equivilant model is, you can still get parts.

You can include me in that group, TSO. Probably about $500 here.

I got my best new tractor deal on a Bobcat CT230, but the 3 Kiotis were close behind. If I coulda
chosen paint color, I woulda chose Red first, and Blue second. White, dead last of any color out
there.

Too bad about DaeDong: excellent value, but still a weak dealer network in the US. Good thing
I did not care about dealers in my purchases. Most buyers do care.

Now, where can I buy a bright red Kubota Grand L 40 HST+ for a Kioti price......

But blue still looks the best ;)

You can also add Montana , farmtrac , and probably a few others (that I can't think of at the moment)to the group

I think LS still makes FarmTrac ... maybe just foreign markets now?

Depending on your usage, the loader specs may be the difference. The Kioti loader lifts a bit higher compared to some, the LS for example. 3 high pyramid stacks of 4' round bales are easy and I think with the right bale fork I think you could do 3 high of 5' bales. I like a red tractor too, but the orange grew on me.

Right. The musical chair nature of some brands would make me very nervous years down the road. Support or even cross references are not going to be as available as with a more in-house or consistent sourcing manufacturer. ie Kubota or Deere/Yanmar.

Back up this supposition with actual facts, if any exist.:confused2:

ALL tractor manufacturers buy from multiple sources which can and often do rotate depending on what is available at what price. And they will change suppliers if they run into defective/substandard parts too.
Kubota and Deere don't hold a monopoly on sourcing from 'consistent' manufacturers. Companies like Daedong make their own parts for their brands, including sourcing some parts from others.

Are you saying Daedong has a weak dealer network in the US regarding Kioti or all their brands labels in the US market? Just curious what you mean by the statement...
