kubota mx5100hst
Just saw on kubotas sight they're bringing out the new MX series for 2014. I'm anxious to see if there are any improvements or if they're just going to be more expensive because of emissions. I can handle more complicated if I get more performance in return. Of course I don't know why I'm worried my 2012 5100 only has 130 hrs on it so it should last a few more decades. Also saw they're bringing out B50series rops tractors and new standard l's. Always fun waiting on new equipment to debut....

I am in the same boat as you. I expect to run my MX5100 until about 2025 (knock on wood), but I still like a peek at what's new.

Yeah I'm glad I bought when I did. I have faith even with added complexity kubota will have a solid machine. It's just hard to stomach so much added cost if your not seeing serious improvement in the machine other than economy and emissions. The l60 serious are sharp though. If I wee lookin for a cut with a cab an l6060 would be my first choice. Love the new cab design.

You guys with MX5100s don't need to worry about upgrading. You have a very nice tractor for years to come.

There is no way any tractor is 'improved' when its choked down with emissions nonsense. That is why I bought my new Kubota recently, I do NOT want to pay for and have all that junk encumbering an otherwise good powerplant.

You share the same opinion as many of us on here. I didn't want the emissions nonsense or the bigger price tag. I'm anxious to see the price difference between my MX5100 and the new MX5200.

Couldn't possibly agree more. We bought our MX5100 this year even though we won't really have a use for it for at least another year maybe 2 strictly to avoid all that emissions garbage. If consumers would wake up and stop gobbling up all the garbage the EPA feeds them, noone would buy this junk and they'd be force to do something. Why is it so lost on people that increased fuel economy actually decreases emissions over time? Same with the Prius, LOL @ that farse.

Going off topic, but I had a Prius for 6 years when I was doing a long commute. Loved it and its 50 mpg. But no good in the snow.

LOL yea they get good mileage, even better mileage if you know how to drive them. What I was referring too about the farse was people running out and buying them because they're supposed to be so environmentally friendly, but in reality it's probably one the least enviro friendly cars ever. LOL

Back on topic, I just found this out while checking specs in another thread:
Interesting.... the MX5200 LA1065 loader is rated for 200lbs less weight than the MX5100s LA844: 2275 vs 2443. See documentation on LA1065 here: Products: LA1065 Kubota Canada Ltd. and LA844 here: Products: LA844 Kubota Canada Ltd.

I know on the L60 series it's rated less because they come standard with ssqa. I assume the same is true here.

Yea, I agree, I hope to run my 2012 MX4700 for the next several decades. They can have their emission improvements.

it is. and thus confused customers will forever think a Kubota lifts half what other tractors do because they rate things with the equipment they are sold with 99% if the time, rather than gunning for the highest number they can legally put on a spec sheet.

Ha...yeah it's all in the details. I think it was a wise move to make ssqa standard equipment though. It's to bad there wasn't a way they could beef the tractor and loader up to make the same specs with it included.
