Roy- I have a V-plow very similar to your new one, on a 620i. Works great -- the gator is so maneuverable. I use about 400 pounds of weight in the bed. (Sand bags).

My "new one" is actually about 3 or 4 years old...just new to me.
Do you use skid shoes?

I'll be using sand bags too. The guy I bought the plow from said he used 80 lbs of weight as ballast. I'll probably go at least that and have a shovel in the bed in case I need some sand for traction.

Ok how did I screw this up? I have no tractor projects that I can't do with one of my uncles tractors so I decided to get my John Deere ready for winter. I hooked up the new snow blower the other day, ran the power for the rotation and deflector that works all I have left is to cut the PTO shaft which I plan on doing on my day off. Today I needed some fresh air and decided to attach the snow plow to the front. Ok I have done this before no problem right? The plow is hooked up to my loader arms and the angle is attached to the hydro for the bucket curl. Every thing hooked up bucket angles as it should but the loader arms will only rise about 4 feet. Checked fluid and it is OK. Roy I believe you had an 855 at one time any idea?

I never had an 855....buddy of mine did and it was the first "modern" tractor I drove as well as the first hydrostatic.

Anyway, do the easiest thing first...disconnect your hydraulic lines and reconnect. If it worked before, there's no reason it shouldn't work again.
It's possible one of the QD fittings is sticking.

Good luck and let us (or PM me) know if it works OK.
I assume you had no problems with the loader before rigging the plow?

No none. I used it before taking bucket off.

Yes- I like to have the skid shoes on there. Our driveway is dirt/gravel. After a few storms the surface gets very hard, but until then the skid shoes do help.

Roy, disconnected and reconnected each line one at a time, started the tractor and every thing back to normal. Thanks David
