I have a 2004 JD LT150. Yesterday, after about 2 hours of lawn work, a growling noise started intermittently when I would go either forward or reverse. I got it to the garage. The drive belt is very worn and the pulley with the fan blade above the transmission is very loose. Could this simply be the belt or does the loose fan blade indicate other worn parts. Thanks for anyone's feedback and advice.

Does the noise stop when you push in the brake?

I have somewhat the same complaint -

Neighbors LT150 starts perfectly but will not move in either forward or reverse. I can use the drive-disconnect lever to disengage the transmission, but it will not engage. All I am getting is a growling noise when I attempt to move the tractor. I have attempted to manually reset the lever at the top of the transmission with no result. The noise DOES stop when I push the brake. Is there an adjustment I can make in the disconnect lever?

Thanks for any help!

It might be the teeth on the pulley on top of the transmission are stripped.
