So I asked the dealer that I am buying my l5740 how much to add rear remotes and he quoted me $2000!!
Did not think it would cost that much. does that sound right or should/can I do it myself getting parts from another vendor??- Is is hard to install?- thanks as always

I thought you already bought a Tractor.

Do some searches on this site, there is lots of information and how-to threads.

If ordered with rear remotes, it usually costs less than if you add them later (using factory parts). Using non Kubota parts, you should be able to do it for less (if you have some basic skills).

I had my dealer add a set of rear remotes to my Kioti DK for $350. $2000 is rapacious. The valve costs the dealer no more than $500 and it takes at most a few hours to install.

I believe for 2 rear remotes (both Float detent valves) on my L4760, it cost me around $1500 installed. For 3 remotes, it would have been around $2100 including labor. You didn't say how many, but if it was for all 3 rear remotes then Kubota factory remotes would probably run you close to $2k (or more) installed.

THANKS -I did buy the tractor just waiting to get it shipped from dealer so I thought I would have them install remotes before I shipped= where would I get them after market??

I recently bought 2 rear remotes for my L5740 from a local dealer. The remotes (2) cost me about $1450. They quoted me $375 to install them.

I had a local welding shop install them, and I haven't got the bill for that yet.

Well, I can't price them out for a 40 series anymore, but for a 60 series, 3 rear remotes, 2 with the float function list out for $2063. So if your dealer will install 3 rear remotes on your L5740 for 2K, I would have to say to go for that if you can swing it. ;)

Yep, that's the pricing you get from the "stealership". If you can't go that amount and have some time to buy components, and learn a bit about hydraulics. You can do it yourself and save quite a bit of cash. I guess it depends on what your needs are.

my l5460 cost me around 2k for three OEM remotes installed. I asked the dealer if it were cheaper to do it upfront rather than later, and he said the price was the same.

When you see Kubota's prices on each part it's sort of criminal, but the OEM rears seem well designed if expensive. And they stack so you can put in two and then add another one fairly painlessly I think.

Now I don't feel the same way about the 3rd function valve, seems aftermarket gives more flexibility for configuration.

The Kubota set up will look much cleaner then any aftermarket set up you could do. I would ask your dealer if they have a GL tractor with remotes so you can see how they are mounted.

$2K--is that for a single, double or triple remote setup?
My Mahindra 5525 has dealer-installed triple hydraulic remotes--cost $700. Bought the remotes as part of the tractor package and is the dealer's own design.

This tells you right away--your dealer is marking up the cost of the parts and is really socking it to you for labor. The parts for my setup run about $600 (valves, hoses, quick disconnects).

Good luck

I got three rear remotes with Top and Tilt on mine and recently configured an L6060 on the Kubota website and your dealer is about right and to me it was well worth it. Yes, you can do it, but for a cab tractor I believe Brian usually recommends OEM due to the clean installation and limited space.

As I mentioned in another thread, I have purchased hydraulic cylinders from Brian at Fit Rite for another tractor and they were really good quality, excellent customer service.

I really like mine, looks and works very nice; money was well spent. I have operated non OEM on open station tractors and prefer OEM setup.

You can do this if you have any mechanical ability.

Not only will you learn, you will know how to take it all apart and fix if necessary.

Order this kit if you want 3 spools, two with float for T-N-T, and 1 spool for spring center action. 4 spools will cost a little more.

Order a 3000 psi hyd gage also.

No way is this going to cost over $800.

Be careful, they/someone will spend your money real quick

I don't get it when some folks refer to a legitimate business thats buys the parts and resells them for profit then pays the people who do the work a "stealer". Please explain what there stealing.
