Was foggy here this morning but cleared up now and supposed to hit 84.

Good morning. 1115. Hazy, 82* with 81% humidity. Forecast high of 91* with 50% chance of thunderstorms. After four or five days without rain, it has really dried out here. A nice thundershower would be welcome. As long as the lightning doesn't get anything.

I went over to my 85 year old Mamma's house and got the belt back on her riding mower this morning. When she can't work, she throws a fit. And the more she can do, the less my sister and I have to do. Then went on to my BIL's and used his impact wrench and hand held grinder to sharpen the blades on my 6' RFM. I have a bench grinder, but couldn't break the bolts loose by hand. I had cut my 6 1/2 acres twice before sharpening, but I saw I will need to sharpen after every cutting from now on. The sand does a number on the blades. When I replace the ones that come on the mower, they will be flat blades. That will help some.

I'm having a bowl of cereal and another cup of coffee now, then I'm starting on the side yard. It is the smallest, at about an acre. So I will see how the blades do on it before I start on the front. The hardest point from here on is trying to decide what goes in the mp3 player's que.

We have chip and tar and it's an excellent road surface that I actually prefer over blacktop. Once the surface settles down in a couple of weeks it's dust and stone free and a pleasure to drive on.

Jim that looks like the same equipment that they are using for the road that connects to my road. Our county still has too many miles of red gravel roads, I don't know if this generation will see mine paved.

103˚ today, August 30th. The good news it rained 8 days in August. The bad news is the total for the 8 days of rain was 1/4". (Good thing I can measure in hundredths of an inch and I read the gauge before it evaporated)

Drank first cup of coffee. 69° with clouds this morning. Heading to 77° with clouds, showers and thunderstorm possible. Got the lawn done yesterday. After having to fix a flat tire on front of tractor. Day of relaxing. Sister is coming in today. Should be spending a couple of weeks helping with dividing up my mothers stuff.

txdon, it's just hard to imagine 103 degrees. Hope the humidity is low.
Ron, what caused your tractor tire to go flat? Just curious.

pleasant day here, going to get a case of corn to put away for the winter.
Then we pick the garden and I'll bring home another bucket of peppers I can't eat.
Oh, well they sure are pretty. More pics likely to come.

Heavy overcast this morning and temp is 67 degrees heading up in the mid 70's with late day thunder bumpers! Hard to face the fact that summer is coming to a close.
