A heavy thunderstorm just rolled in. It has already cooled it down to 73. Hope it eases up before I have to leave for work. {or I might melt}

Success! Easy drive out the turnpike and then through some pretty PA Dutch farm country. We saw horse drawn harvesters out everywhere, and the cutest little tiny buggy with three little under ten year olds driving along, three aside each other, happily driving their mini buggy. Just like we would on a UTV...

from what we've seen of this place it's pretty interesting. We are about to go take a golf cart ride around the place, it's big and these little side roads are on serious hills, not flat areas, and the roads are very one way. You know how you go down the road and you aren't sure if you are going to have a very long backing up ahead of you? Nope, there it was, a large gravel site surrounded by woods, and directly behind us, a tipi modernized for rental. And on the other side of the road, a caboose plopped there and rented out. The area we were sent to is mostly full season or year round park models and I think we are in one that was vacated. Fine, nice quiet section for sure.

I had to laugh. This twenty eight foot rv comes with an absurd number of tvs. I have a 42 about two feet from me, a 32 ten feet to the left, another 32 in an outside cabinet and a 23 in the bedroom. And not one works. They don't work on satellite. They don't work on the rooftop antenna which is showing a signal. And worst, they don't even work on the cable tv feed at our slip. No signal. No signal. Aarrrgghhh. Or so I say to Nadene. Actually I kinda like the peace and quiet, and thank goodness for a large laptop with an aircard. When I showed my wife the channel ten news broadcast from Philly, she felt right at home. The internet is amazing. And we can watch a netflix movie tonight.

for five years I took a break from insurance and owned a retail electronics business in my little home town. So I'm pretty savvy with a/b boxes and all the installer tricks, and we have tried every setting six times over. Always no signal. I think the satellite installer mucked with the oem wiring, because if anything should work, plugging a coax cable into a hardwired exterior jack sure ought to get to the tv's.
I might just run the cable in a window and go direct to the tv. Let's see that not work...

should be some fun pics tomorrow.

Mornin' guys,

For the first time in over a week I've arisen to sunshine! It's a miracle.

I'm sitting here now with my first (very large) coffee and looking at my lawn which isn't too great to be honest. I will definitely have to buy a petrol mower ASAP, that electric one doesn't do a great job.

Hope everybody has a nice day, talk to you later.

I don't think anyone would mind, and if they did, too bad! The more, the merrier, I think, especially with this thread! Be sure you share some photos of your camping trip too!

74* at 0315, going to 94* And any one of you could predict my rain chances.

Good morning all, reporting in from the woods. A very quiet night, I slept like a rock in our "new" bed.
And the coffee pot is on, making coffee as it really didn't want to do last night. A spare old coffee maker went into the rv, and
our first pot of coffee was very strange, most of the water boiled off and very little went into the coffee pot. Most distressing.
Well, this morning, it got its java mojo and the coffee pot is filling up as I watch.

they predict fog this morning and a high of 84 which is six degrees cooler than home, with no fog and 90 degrees. Turns out it will be a good week to be in the woods. We are going exploring this morning on the golf cart and will take lots of pics.

Now what to eat with my coffee.... we stopped at an Amish produce stand down the road before the campsite, and I have a home made cherry pie staring at me, and a bunch of other goodies. Shoo fly pies we passed on, wet bottom or dry bottom??, and then there were lots of different moon pies, looking like giant oreos. We also bought a container of home made chicken corn noodle soup, which we will have for lunch today.

Once we turned off at the Morgantown exit, the scenery was really pretty, rolling hills, and every property simply immaculate. Every lawn mowed, not a spec of trash anywhere, and very few dumpy houses. These folk sure take care of their properties, which I'm sure reflects their faith, their life style, and their family stewardship of the land. Really nice to see. Not quite like the fast food wrappers found closer to home....

the coffee pot looks like it will actually fill up, yeah, so I need to get breakfast stuff out quietly and get ready to cook. And yes, Out of Africa is loaded in the cd player.

Life is sweet, need to make every day count. And Scooter, thanks for the compliment. Join us any day. Peace.
